Nice hotel. Our room was too close to a main road. The food options are not great. The restaurant specialises in over-complicated fine dining, but it is not actually very good. And there were no healthy options. At the bar we had a pizza, which was undercooked and had a massive slab of Cabrales cheese. Nice cheese, but it really doesn't work on pizza, especially as a luke-warm massive non-melted chunk. Breakfast was just strange. Unfriendly. The walk into town along the river is great.
Nice hotel set in an ex monastery. Some interesting remains still visible.
Good service with pleasant staff.
Beds very comfortable and aircon was welcome in unusual heat
This property was a monastery. It’s renovated. You can see the details of the building, the manager explained the history of the buildings. That staff are very nice and go beyond to help you in everything. They have great choice for eating, the patio is a wonderful place to have a cup of wine, read, chat or the like. I will recommend this place to my friend and anyone
Very nice restored hotel in an old monastery. I can’t believe nuns lived in such opulent quarters and such large rooms! Wonderful staff and excellent breakfast. The only thing I would say is please replace all the beds with king/2 meter wide ones. The small bed was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Also they have a new building with balconies, but I was never offered that option thru Expedia. I would have preferred a room with a king bed and balcony, but they only offered Standard on Expedia
The Parador was clean, and beautiful, just what you would expect. Dinner and breakfast was excellent.
Make the trip to the Basilica of Santa Maria.
All great - excellent staff - friendly and efficient.
Food and bar service fantastic.
Lovely stay.
2i night half board in May was 300 euros…… What do you get…?
- No tea or coffee facilities in room
- No mini bar or fridge
- You have to book the following day’s breakfast time when you check in -how on earth do i know -I’m on holiday!
- The earliest evening meal time is 8.30pm ….which was fully booked so 8.45pm was the earliest we could be admitted to the restaurant. Just great when lunch was 12 noon.
- The evening menu was indecipherable -the starters and main courses on the menu were not highlighted so it was not possible to tell which is which.
- No drinks order taken at the evening meal.
- We Ordered food at 9.05pm….it arrived at 9.45pm. -it was only chicken and rice!!
- We chose Chicken and rice for the eveneing meal……It was the strangest chicken I’ve ever seen. Most likely it was lamb.
- The “chicken” was full of splintered small bones. Which is a reckless way to serve chicken. We complained.
- The chicken and rice was the only normal item on menu and it was 5 euros extra if you are on half board.
- The Hotel is a nice old monastery with charm but that’s it,
- There was a Tv in room but it had no English, German or American tv channels.
- The Beds are suitable for monks only - I.e. rock hard.
- The bathroom had a plastic toilet seat which slides off as soon as you sit on it.
All this for a Price of 300 euros (plus extras) for 1 night. You have got to be kidding me!!
Refuse lorry reversing horn and manoeuvring backwards then emptying of refuse bins for about 10 minutes directly below our bedroom widow at 5:20 in the morning. This was in spite of requesting a quiet room
Really nice place to stay if visiting the area.
The history here is very amazing
Beautiful
Beautiful historic building, excellent food and service.
Dejlig oplevelse. Skønt værelse og rent. God restaurant med meget opmærksomt personale. God beliggenhed.
Hotel muito bonito, um antigo mosteiro, realmente muito bonito! Atendimento fraco, sem empatia, pelo preço pago esperava mais.
Very clean and beautiful experience in an historic building.
Hermoso ex monasterio. Muy cómodas las camas. Desayuno muy completo
Muy bonito edificio y se encuentra en un excelente lugar con atractivos paisajes
