Riffelhaus 1853

Riffelhaus is a very good place if you want to experience peaceful mountain life. It's living next to the Matterhorn. The staff are very helpful, efficient and friendly. We came very early and our room was ready. I gravitated to view on our windows. The jacuzzi is a must .

We wandered down to this hotel in search of coffee, the buffet at the station above was extremely busy and we didnt want food just a drink.
This hotels patio area is absolutely amazing. The Matterhorn view is incredible.
Having planned for coffee we were tempted by a member of staff to try some cake (we didnt take much tempting i might add) totally the right decision. Coffee and cake both delicious. Yes a little pricey but where isn't in Zermatt and surrounding areas.
The weather was the icing on the cake today. Absolutely delightful 😊

WE try to go every year same week..This time we had 7 days of absolute bliss.Both in absolute skiing convenience,EXCELLENT food.Very friendly staff reception,housekeeping,reastaurant.Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere.And to cap it all an outside heated whirlpool and quality spa area

Great on-slope location for skiing. First track in the morning and ski down to hotel at the end of day. Excellent dinner, both food and services. However limited night time activities since the Gornegrat train does not run late at night. Strongly recommend if skiing is your priority!

Bei der Anreise sehr freundliche Aufnahme u. auch der Hund wird vom Personal willkommen aufgenommen.Die grosse Sonnenterrasse und der Saunabereich mit einmaligen Blick aufs Matterhorn bieten viel Raum zum Relaxen. Beim Dinner war das 4-Gang Menü ein kulinarischer Hochgenuss.

This is the same use as last year. The location, food, cleanliness, and the view from the hotel are great. The staff are very kind. I would like to take advantage of the next opportunity.

We had a lovely stay at the Riffelhaus in celebration of my mother's birthday. The scenery cannot be beat, and having a room with a direct view of the Matterhorn was well worth it! The room was clean and well-maintained. The breakfast & dinner included with the stay were fine but not amazing. Huge shout-out to hotel staff Dior at the front desk, who was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay!

We booked three 4 star hotels in the journey. This one is the best in all aspect, especially the bathroom.

We had the most unforgettable stay at Riffelhaus 1853, and I can’t say enough good things about the incredible team here. Dior and Sven went above and beyond for us, and every single staff member made us feel truly cared for over the last four days.

Their kindness, professionalism, and warmth made all the difference in the unique situation we were all just in. That kind of service is rare, and it meant the world to us.

We wouldn’t trade the experience we just had for anything. We’re leaving with full hearts and a deep appreciation for all the people who made it so special. We will definitely be back—and until then, we’ll be singing the praises of Riffelhaus to everyone we know. Thank you for everything. You truly are something special!

Lo único que vale la pena es el jacuzzi pero puedes pagar por ir a tomarte las fotos, el lugar está lejos del mundo es muy caro transportarte tienes límite de tiempo para hacer actividades no hay comida, fuera de eso si planeas tener una luna de miel sin salir del hotel si es recomendable .

Ein magischer Ort

The hotel is magnificently perched on the mountain facing the Matterhorn. The vistas are incredible and access to skiing could not be easier! The ski room has boot heaters that dry your boots every night and warms them for your feet in the morning. The spa is also beautiful with a sauna that looks out at the Matterhorn. Rooms are thoughtfully furnished and showers are incredibly hot. The hotel was clearly fully renovated but retains its historic charm. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Julie was particularly friendly and helpful, assisting us in organizing staff to help move our luggage and helping us extend our stay. The chef and waitstaff made us feel right at home. All in all we had a terrific trip!

Our experience was excellent from start till end! Staff were all so friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. They seemed to enjoy being there and brought a good vibe to the place. The rooms and bathroom were beautiful and spacious even for the standard rooms. Wellness and dining spaces were also stunning and with perfect views of the Matterhorn. This was definitely one of the best stays of our lives. We hope to be back again!!
