There are so many beautiful hotels to choose from in Zermatt, but I am beyond grateful that we chose Hotel Bellerive. This was, without question, the nicest and best boutique hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere.
We came to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and somehow Katja, Mario, and the entire team made it the best birthday she’s ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family, not just guests. The warmth, the attention to detail, and the genuine care they showed us made the entire stay unforgettable.
They went above and beyond in ways that felt personal and thoughtful, not scripted or corporate. You can truly feel that this hotel is run with heart.
And the breakfast was absolutely incredible. Fresh, beautifully presented, and full of quality local ingredients. It wasn’t just a hotel breakfast, it was something we looked forward to every single morning. The perfect way to start a day in Zermatt.
Every staff member we encountered was kind, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, luxurious yet intimate. It feels like a home in the Alps, if your home happened to be perfectly designed and immaculately run.

Cannot recommend this hotel more. Wonderful comfortable clean rooms. Staff was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. The breakfast was included with a lot to choose from and everything was delicious. The wellness area was included and great after a long day on the slopes. The location was perfect. Walkable to all of the restaurants in town. Not far from any of the main ski access points. You could walk of take the bus. Cannot wait to plan our next visit.

One of the best ski resorts I have stayed at! The ski room is very well organized and they even provide tissues, mints in your assigned locker! The room we stay at was very elegant decorated. The owner and the staff are very attentive and extremely helpful. They even booked a paragliding adventure for us(Fly Zermatt) which was the highlight of our trip!
Breakfast is included with the room rate and the variety, plus the orange juice making machine makes it a perfect way to start your day. Everything is within walking distance, but there is a bus stop close by if you decide to not make the walk to ski lift. We would definitely stay here again when back in Zermatt .

The most beautiful hotel! The view takes your breath away, the wonderful staff makes you feel like part of the family, attentive and kind in everything. Exceptional room, I recommend it 100%.

Fantastic location and a beautifully appointed hotel. Very close to everything we needed. Staff were exceptional, very friendly and willing to help. The only drawback for me was the lack of airconditioning in my room although not a problem for the majority of the year.

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for the week over New Year. From the moment we arrived, we knew we made the right choice!Katja and Mario and all of the staff are just so welcoming and helpful. The rooms are amazing and the fixtures and fittings are all very high-quality. The beds are extremely comfortable with high-quality bedlinen. We were a family of four with two rooms, the rooms have a lot of storage available and a set up to accommodate my two teenagers who shared. The spa area has been designed so well and all of the facilities were immaculately clean and and of high standard.

All of the team at the hotel were just so welcoming and so hospitable the breakfast were amazing and we wanted for nothing. The staff are very knowledgeable on the ski area and where to eat in the village and always on hand to help. Being family run the hotel has been very well thought out and great gifts and the mini bar bought smiles to our faces. The ski and boot room is one of the best we have ever experienced and the team at the hotel, even leave tissues suncream et cetera in them for you I’ve never had that anywhere else.

It was our first time in Zermat and we were blown away with the scenery and the town itself the skiing is amazing as all the lift systems as others of mentioned. There are many restaurants from high-end to McDonald’s with something for everyone we ate at a sushi restaurant The pizza Roma restaurant across the road North Wall pizza and had a few lunches of the mountains.
Zermat is expensive however you pay for what you get and certainly does live up to the hype.

If we return to Zermat, we would without doubt try and book into this amazing hotel with this lovely family and team again. I almost hesitated in writing this just in case there wouldn’t be room if we were chose to go in the future! However, I wish the family and team so much success with what they have built in my opinion it should be five stars on the rating.

Everyting. From the food to the location to the amenities and the personel, everything was excellent. We had fresh salmon, salmon eggs for breakfast. Homemade jam, only quality ingredients. Honestly best breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel.
Spa was included but take your own sljppers from home or you’ll pay a 5CFH extra for spa slippers

I think to appreciate Hotel Bellerive you have to first appreciate Zermatt - review is tailored for someone who has never visited.

We visited zermatt the week after Christmas and to say it was amazing would be an understatement - “it” included all of Zermatt - the beauty of the mountains, the village charm, the dining on and off mountain, the long groomed blue runs, the modern ski infrastructure (not Italy side) - all was top notch and unmatched anywhere in the world.

When I started my hotel search I had a few non negotiable items - luxury, fireplace, hot tub, place large enough to hold family of 6. Hotel Bellerive delivered on all of that plus breakfast, easy access to village, kind staff, kind owners (Mario and Katja are the real deal), and the most fabulous orange juice maker (we are buying one for our home).

A few tips - book early, book here - you don’t need the fru fru of a stuffy old money hotel, book chez vrony (whole family enjoyed twice), buy ski passes to Italy for entire trip and ski over when you like, eat in Italy at least once, pay for a taxi each day to and from slopes especially if you have kids for convenience, buy lots of chocolate (stores close at 7 pm for some reason),ski all parts of mountain (when you think of zermatt you think of Klein Matterhorn area but we loved the sunnega side), train in and get a car out.

I loved everything about our stay here. The rooms were clean with a comfortable bed. The staff were exceptionally nice and went above and beyond to make our stay a great experience. I absolutely loved the fireplace. AND THE SNACKS. Wow. It’s was the small attention to detail and hospitality. I will definitely come back here again.
