Berthelot Hotel Bucharest

From the moment we arrived we were impressed. One of the staff came out and parked our car for us! In the rain! And the dining staff accommodated is by staying open just a bit longer so we could have some dinner.
The room was perfect; clean, comfortable beds, hot showers. And the location was perfect; it was about a 20 minute walk to all we wanted to do downtown. (In the rain...)

Nice hotel...great location...water pressure in shower isn't good...breakfast was OK but orange juice isn't fresh...very clean & ok otherwise

While the location, service, and breakfast were certainly highlights, the facility itself felt a bit outdated. A refresh of the decor and amenities would significantly enhance the guest experience. Additionally, the hotel's entrance was somewhat hidden and lacked a proper offloading area, which could be a minor inconvenience upon arrival and departure.

All 3 receptionists we dealt with were unhelpful off hand to the point of being rude. Having booked a twin room 3 months ago, we were late arriving due to a flight delay and stuck with a small double. Despite repeated reassurances from different staff members (who didn’t seem to communicate with each other) it was a real battle to get the room we’d booked. Breakfast was basis but adequate. The hotel is centrally located but impossible to get to by car at weekends due to road closures.

Helpful staff at the reception and in the restaurant who spoke English.
Nice area, could walk everywhere from the hotel.

Perfect location - close both to the walk path and to the historical places. Very calm place. Breakfasts were super! Friendly staff ready to solve any problem.
But: beds are not very comfortable, solid and narrow, the same for blankets. Also showers water changes temperature randomly from almost boiling to almost icy each 5 minutes, no option to adjust and keep.

De geboekte twin kamer bleek niet beschikbaar (voor zoveelste keer). Ontbijt wordt steeds matiger. Bedden te hard.

Zoals altijd voelt het goed om weer hier te zijn. Personeel herkent ons. Moet hier en daar een beetje onderhoud.

Was a nice hotel for a city centre, limited parking.

The staff was great! I always stay at this property for its location mainly.

Good location to walk to the old town.

Receptionist was rather blunt, but the other staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Room was a good size and beds were comfortable.

The hotel is situated in a great location. Breakfast was average, checking was not courteous.

We stayed at the hotel, the receptionist (Carmen) had a bad and disrespectful attitude, the cleanliness of the rooms was bad, they didn't change the sheets and didn't give us towels, we had a bad experience from the hotel, a very bad hotel, be careful.
