The hotel was disappointing and did not offer good value for the price.
Pros:

The buildings and gardens are beautiful. The bed and bedding were very comfortable, and both the bedroom and bathroom in Garden Villa Room 17 are very spacious. The breakfast area in the main house is also very nice. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful, with the exception of one person. Unfortunately, it only takes one unpleasant interaction to negatively affect the overall experience.

Cons:

The overall experience was disappointing because of the many little problems that could easily be fixed if the Ammende family actually cared. However, having now read their responses to previous complaints, I see that these problems have not been addressed in years. At this price point, it is unacceptable that the person greeting guests upon arrival is so rude. We requested separate twin beds, but a double bed had been made up instead. Even though the problem was eventually sorted out, at first the person started arguing with us and was very rude. All the other personnel were thankfully very nice and professional.

A major issue with Room No. 17 was the very strong smell, reminiscent of an old-age home. It was unpleasant enough to significantly affect our stay and is something future guests should be aware of. The room could also use some finishing touches, such as paintings, because at the moment it feels unfinished and lacks coziness. Tea-making facilities should definitely be provided in addition to coffee-making facilities. Some of the towels need replacing, and it was surprising that there were no bathrobes.

We enjoyed our breakfast very much, thanks to the very attentive staff that morning. However, the system should be changed so that people can get their morning coffee more quickly. Guests should not have to wait at the table for any amount of time to get their first cup. It would be so easy to change this, and many people seemed frustrated while waiting.

Old Mones flair mit gutem Essen.
Pros:

Süß schrullige Art Deco Einrichtung. Eine kleine Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit. Das Frühstück, besonders die Gerichte auf der Karte war hervorragend. Auch das Abendessen ist nur zu empfehlen.

Cons:

Die vegane Auswahl war wirklich sehr gering. Darauf war kaum jemand eingestellt. Das Zimmer roch durch das Alter der Möbel etwas nach Oma.

Fantastic building (the main one - the « garden villa » is more basic). Great location. Very good restaurant. Impressive breakfast. The receptionist improvised a guided tour of the various rooms - a very nice experienced !
