Great choice for a short stay
Pros:

First impression: The Hotel didn't look much on the outside but what a pleasant surprise on entering. The hotel is a clean and modern facility.
The Room: we liked the room a lot, featuring a good sized bed, spacious shower, small safe, ample cupboard space for a few days stay, tea and coffee facility and bottled water (both replenished daily), ingenious method (electronic) of informing housekeeping of your requirements/intentions. The lighting setup took a while to get used to.
Breakfast: great variety of product both hot and cold, Beverage machines working overtime and most unexpectedly - Prosecco at breakfast (included) for those that fancied the 'hair of the dog'.
Location: great, easy access by car, taxi, train and bus stations within 5min walk.
TIP: If travelling to/from the airport it is cheaper by bus (AP) only 7PLN per person each way as opposed to taxi 257PLN one-way. We booked 'transfers' through Wizzair and were let down badly so had to find our own way.

Cons:

Even at the time of the stay (mid October) with the outside temp well above what we expected the air con in the room could not be regulated below 18 deg and was therefore too warm for comfort. Opening the windows just allowed the street noise (of which there was plenty - plenty of bars on the street) to take over in the room, sadly it was constant into the early hours (4am) and building work starting at 6am weekdays.
No USB charging points!

Pros:

Es war alles ausgezeichnet. Ich kannte das Hotel schon von einem Aufenthalt vor mehreren Jahren. Jetzt hat man es erweitert und total renoviert. Das ist ausgezeichnet gelungen!

Great location. Room was very warm

Was very clean great location. Great size rooms. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Cons:

The only thing that let it down was the air conditioning. If you enjoy a warm room. This is hands down a great hotel.

Hotel Diament Plaza Katowice - piękny, przestronny pokój, ale są pewne minusy
Pros:

Zatrzymaliśmy się w Hotelu Diament Plaza przy ul. Dworcowej, w centrum Katowic. Zazwyczaj wybieramy Mercure, ale ponownie nie było tam wolnych pokoi. Ten hotel ma dogodną lokalizację blisko naszego oddziału firmy. Obsługa była miła i profesjonalna.

Dzięki statusowi Genius 3 na Booking otrzymaliśmy pokój o wyższym standardzie. Pokój był naprawdę piękny, bardzo przestronny i komfortowy. Łóżko wygodne, choć w rzeczywistości składało się z dwóch zsuniętych łóżek. Spało się komfortowo. Dostępne były szlafroki, kapcie, deska do prasowania, szampon, mydło i żele pod prysznic.

Hotel posiada restaurację i salę fitness, ale z nich nie korzystaliśmy. Na kolację wybraliśmy Mercure. Parking hotelowy jest drogi, dlatego samochód zostawiliśmy w Galerii Katowickiej za około 90 zł za noc.

Podsumowując: świetna lokalizacja w centrum Katowic, miła obsługa, piękny i bardzo przestronny pokój z wygodnym łóżkiem. Niestety słaba izolacja akustyczna oraz brak poczucia świeżości nieco zepsuły ogólne wrażenie.

Podczas kolejnego pobytu w Katowicach mimo wszystko ponownie wybrałabym Mercure.

Cons:

Trochę mnie zaskoczyło, że dla dwóch osób przygotowano zaledwie dwie kapsułki kawy i jeden zestaw płatków oraz patyczków kosmetycznych. Być może przyzwyczailiśmy się do innego standardu wyposażenia w hotelach, w których zatrzymywaliśmy się wcześniej, ale z tak skromnym zestawem spotkałam się po raz pierwszy.

Największy minus - słaba izolacja akustyczna. Pomimo prośby o cichy pokój otrzymaliśmy pokój z oknami wychodzącymi na ulicę. Wyraźnie było słychać rozmowy przechodniów oraz hałas przejeżdżających w pobliżu pociągów.

Ważna uwaga dla alergików. Mimo pięknego wnętrza w pokoju brakowało poczucia świeżości. Wyczuwałam lekko stęchły, zakurzony zapach, być może pochodzący z wykładziny lub zasłon. Dodatkowo dość intensywnie pachniało proszkiem do prania. Nie wiem, skąd dokładnie pochodził ten zapach - być może ze szlafroków albo z pralni znajdującej się gdzieś w pobliżu. Co ciekawe, sama pościel była całkowicie pozbawiona zapachu. Dla mnie, jako alergiczki, było to dość uciążliwe.
