Good reception, breakfast, price and peaceful location.
Pros:

The lady at the reception at day time was the ultimate multitasker and customer service award winner. She also took care of breakfast, which was very good and came along the room price. There was a tram and bus stop just 50m from hotel door to go to the St. Pieter's train station or do shopping and sight seeing. Walking distance to historical sights is about 1km / 15min. We got the city guide with hints from the reception. The looks of the public areas and rooms are nice and old-stylish suiting the original age of the building.

Cons:

The cleaning was not at superior standard, but mostly ok. Some features in the room like elctric plugs and renovated bathroom features were a bit clumsily executed. This is a very old building by heart, so expect the temperature in the hotel to follow what happens in the weather outside. In the winter / spring time you might want to dress warmly for the breakfast. The rooms are not very silent what comes to living with other guests. F.ex. The floors sound as old as they are. No restaurants in the building or the nearby blocks.

Pros:

Tolles, aussergewöhnliches Hotel mit Charme. Uns gefiel das Design und die Einrichtig richtig gut.
Die Lage ist gut, man erreicht das Zentrum von Gent innerhalb weniger Minuten.
Das Frühsrück war auch sehr gut, viel Auswahl.

Cons:

Leider wirkt das Hotel zwar schön und "charmant alt", aber in einigen Punkten auch etwas vernachlässigt und lieblos bzw gar nicht renoviert.
Vielerorts sehr staubig.
Ganz besonders schlimm fand ich, dass wir nur einen Knauf am Hahn des Waschbecken hatten, entweder warm oder kalt- und mussten den immer hin- und herstecken.
Ausserdem ging die Badtür nicht zu. Wir behalfen uns mit einer Tasche, die wir davor stellten, aber toll war es nicht.
Und die Fenster waren nur einfach verglast, nachts war es von der Straße her sehr laut.

Tolles Frühstück, sehr schöne Atmosphäre, gute Lage, nette Mitarbeiter
Es ist ein altes Gebäude mit alten Möbeln und Fußböden. Manches ist anders als gewohnt und funktioniert nicht so, wie man es kennt. Uns hat das nicht gestört, aber wer eine moderne Ausstattung erwartet, sollte wahrscheinlich nicht hier buchen.

Cons:

Zwei gleichzeitig nutzbare Wasserhähne wären toll. So mussten wir uns entscheiden. Ging auch, aber mit zwei Hähnen wäre es schöner gewesen.

Teleurgesteld, had op basis van de foto's iets meer verwacht
Pros:

Ontbijt was lekker en uitgebreid. Garage aan het hotel is een pluspunt eveneens de nabijheid Capitole Gent.
Vriendelijk personeel.

Cons:

Dit is ooit een prachtig hotel geweest maar nu is het vergane glorie. Een beetje meer onderhoud en een likje verf - vooral de badkamer- zou wonderen doen. De badkamer was allesbehalve fris - door de ventilatie kwam enkel een rioollucht naar binnen. Overal verlengkabels, vraagtekens ivm brandveiligheid.
Dat de houten vloeren kraken bij elke stap is normaal. Dat de overgordijnen half los hangen daarentegen niet - aan 1 raam hing maar een, te smal gordijn. Heel jammer want dit hotel heeft charmes

het pand is uniek maar éénmaal is voldoende

Daadwerkelijk een historisch pand! Redelijk uniek. Goed gelegen, buiten centrum maar met tramlijn dichtbij. Vriendelijk onthaal door Flex jobber. Parkingplaats in hotel aan zeer redelijke kost.

Cons:

Pand is niet onderhouden. De foto's op de site (kleuren) komen niet overeen met de werkelijkheid. Groot raam van slaapkamer was dichtgetimmerd: geen daglicht.
Badkamer was heel bijzonder maar je kon niet baden in het historische ligbad want geen warm water.
Ontbijt was zeer pover.
Prijs/kwaliteit was dus niet OK.

Het was een aangenaam verblijf.
Pros:

Het personeel was super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het ontbijtaanbod was heel divers en ruim voldoende, de koffie ,thee, latte e.d. waren prima.Het hotel is dichtbij het centrum. De garage voor de auto’s en de fietsenstalling waren heel fijn.

Cons:

De matrassen en de kozijnen. De badkamers kunnen wat onderhoud gebruiken.
