Dinner and Breakfast
Ticked all the right boxes
Nothing
The 16th century pub in was very cosy and was hoping it was haunted but feel asleep in the very cosy bed
En dehors de la ville
Bar dans l'hôtel
Un immense parking
A working TV in the room.
Lovely quaint inn.
Laura was very hospitable & nothing was too much bother. The food & service was fabulous.
Great welcome, comfy rooms, great hostess
Bed was a little hard, tiny kettle with short flex made it hard to make cuppa but an easy fix
Friendly and comfortable place
Oldy worldy style, very fitting for the area
Very little. Quirky setting in the middle of nowhere.
Terrible value for money, our worst in 3 months of travelling. Very slow check in with the far from welcoming proprietor. Uncomfortable lumpy bed and overall very dated. Hot room with no fan, right next to noisy road but had to have window open due to heat. Chef was lovely but my tortellini was straight out of the supermarket fridge rather than home made and very poor value for money. A very strange place with American Werewolf in London vibes and little to recommend it. Recommend you keep driving.
I have asked for an invoice since I checked in. They haven't sent it, and I have called them twice and the same answers all the time, "we are very busy, we can do whatever we can." Because I haven't sent in time my expenses, I am going to pay for my own pocket for this booking.
Please advise.
Avoid! Nothing really good about this property, it’s branded as a spa. It’s not! there is a gym and a hot tub, but it’s definitely not a spa. We paid extra but the tub was being fixed when we arrived at 3pm (early) we were then told at 5pm it had just been chemically treated and we couldn’t use it, but were not offered a refund. Having stayed in the hotel we decided that the hot tub probably wouldn’t be safe to use anyway. I’ve attached photos of the mould and flies in the property.
It’s a run down property with mould on the walls, it is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The owner Laura runs the property with minimal staff and this is detrimental to the running of the hotel. Although she is happy to say she has ran the place for over 22 years. This may be the case but doesn’t mean it’s well run. I’ve been staying in hotels for the last 20 years all over the world and this has been one of the most bizarre places I have stayed in.
We ate at the hotel in the evening and the food was average and over priced doesn’t match what’s on the website. Breakfast was standard and probably the only thing that was acceptable.
Finally and possibly the worst experience of the hotel was that my battery pack was stolen by the cleaner, apparently he quit so didn’t show up for the following day. Laura did compensate me for the price of the charger £30. And did ask if I would not reference this on review but feel I owe it to others to make them aware.
The fact that we paid for breakfast but no breakfast was provided. We needed breakfast at 7.30 but the venue refused to provide breakfast before 8.00. Very unreasonable. No refund for lack of breakfast. What a rip off.
