Will definatly stay again when in the area
Pros:

Everthing was great from the check into the breakfast. The room was nicely furnished and ideal for our stay. The shower was excellent and the bar nice and freindly.

Pros:

Twin Room was spot on, clean, tidy and spacious.
The Staff, bar and food menu was all good. Great atmosphere in the bar area.
Good parking at front and side of hotel. Secure enough for my motorbike, with security cameras that cover the parking areas.

Cons:

We bought food and alchohol in the evening, very nice.
Breakfast should be included in the price.

Durham stay
Pros:

Large comfortable room and bed. Room had a balcony with views in distance on city. Direct access from A1. Restaurant on site plus parking.

Cons:

Traffic from A1 however room had decent soundproofing and great for a stop over.

great hotel with lovely staff and good restaurant
Pros:

Lovely comfortable hotel with excellent staff - friendly and efficient. Clean, comfortable rooms with tea/coffee making facility (and real milk), very spacious with balcony. Lots of parking space, close to major routes and easy to find. Fabulous Thai restaurant for dinner or good bar food. A great hotel.

Great stay food was great room was good nice and clean the staff were very helpful.
Pros:

The evening meal i had was very good would recommend, the room was comfortable and quiet had a great nights sleep.
Breakfast was also very good with a good choice of continental and cooked options.

Good sized rooms and ate in the Thai restaurant which was lovely .

Cons:

Got woken up by pipes banging at around 3am , was so bad I had to go see security who moved us to different room for rest of stay.

Welcoming staff and comfortable hotel in a good location
Pros:

All the ladies we came into contact with from reception to breakfast staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. A great breakfast selection too. Great location just off the A1M. If you want to go into Durham and not drive it's a short taxi ride or there's a bus stop just outside the hotel which takes about 20 minutes and runs frequently. We didn't eat in the hotels Thai restaurant but it looked very good and was busy. Am sure we will visiting Durham in the future and wouldn't hesitate to stop here again.

We have stayed at the Highfield several times before and we have always enjoyed our stays there.
Pros:

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was very good too. We had a pleasant surprise seeing a bottle of champagne in our room whilst we were staying there. We are very thankful to the hotel management and staff for given this complimentary gift in recognition of our engagement.
