Cabo Blanco Hotel & Marina

This is a very affordable, clean, and beautiful location. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the pool water was really hot it could have helped to have the Jets turned on to have the water moving and not get us hot.

We stayed in the condo's by the canal because we wanted kitchens and they are by the long pool that parallels the canal, where the fishing boats and water taxis can come right in front of the rooms. The condos are adequate but outdated, have minimal kitchen equipment (varies from room to room). There is no microwave just an outdated stovetop. The kitchen sink in ours was pretty knarly, faucet was rusted out with very poor water pressure. There is also so hairdryers in the rooms and toiletries don't include lotion or shower caps. The regular rooms are much nicer and have been updated. There was one big complaint, of the restaurant. The last night we ordered Nacho's, and they came burned so we sent them back. We had ordered sour cream and guacamole on the side of Nachos, but did not want either when we sent Nachos back. The waitress brought the guacamole anyway and when we told her we didn't want it without the Nachos she said that SHE would be charged for them, so of course we took it and paid for it. We thought that policy was very unfair to the waitress. There was no apology from the kitchen or management regarding the burnt Nachos, but they didn't charge for them only the side of guacamole.

It was a perfect getaway, chill, pool was warm and perfect to jump in.

Close to everything.

Excellent value. Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Exceptionally clean. Very safe and secure. Compliments to the staff and property manager. Just be aware it is a bit of a walk to the beach, but it’s a pleasant walk.

Price is right

Nice location in safe Barra neighborhood - - nice staff, spacious comfortable rooms and very good rates. Book on Expedia for best price (vs booking or directly with hotel). Nice restaurant - don't add on $12 for breakfast just order a la carte and pay less. Lovely large pool with volleyball net. Quiet but can sometimes hear people next door or outside and/or ac running. (I used the ceiling fan). Great deal.

This is the second time we have been there and love the property. It’s quiet and has a real family feel to how it’s run. All staff are friendly and accommodating. We really appreciated Alex and Jami.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Staff was amazing

First trip to Barra so I picked this hotel after reviewing several options. It’s a short walk from the main street and the bus station where we were arriving. Our room was clean and adequate but disappointingly at the back of the building when the room photo showed a view of the pool. The beds were surprisingly comfortable for Mexico. The safe did not work so the hotel offered a safety deposit box at the front desk.

I purchased the breakfast included option and did not regret this decision. Service was below expectation and staff were decidedly unfriendly. But the breakfast was excellent.

The pool was clean and seating/shade was plentiful most days. The hotel hosts ‘open mike’ musical afternoons where older Canadian and US people gather to serenade themselves and those unfortunate guests who were hoping to spend a quiet afternoon at the pool!

WiFi was good and we felt safe. Would I stay again? Probably not - at least not during the winter ‘snowbird’ season.
