Everything about the place was great!
Beautiful location. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Pretty room in the lodge with excellent views and privacy.
The reception staff were really accommodating when we twice added on extra nights.
A fridge in the room would have been nice especially in this hot weather. Sometimes we only had one hand towel between us and only one small bottle of water. But these are minor niggles
It's a very pretty building Breakfasts food was ok. Bed was comfortable.
We were placed in the Lodge. Got dropped off at reception and were then told that our room was a 4 minute walk back up the driveway (with our luggage) No offer of help and we are both retired. Could have been raining. Staff were not helpful. There is no fridge in the room.

Wedding party on one of our nights woke us up as guests did not appreciate how sound travels in very hot weather and everyone has windows open to let in some air.

Seemed like it needed a good maintenance, bathroom especially.

Room was next to industrial size extractor fans, would’ve been nice to be informed as it certainly didn’t help during higher temps with open windows - no air conditioning, which wasn’t an issue but the noise was on the louder side.

Room was spacious.
Room was tired, staff were not informative (did not explain breakfast parameters and did not explain that there is no water in the room and you have to take it from a separate fridge). The location meant getting a taxi was not easy or cheap. The price did not match the experience.

The room was comfortable but beware there is no lift. We had to go up 5 flights of stairs to get to our room.
Restaurant. Dinner, really appetising menu and delicious food let down by incredibly slow service and obvious staff training deficiencies such as no bread offered despite some very nice looking salted butter pats on the table. Half way through the meal I asked, and a basket of nicely warmed bread rolls appeared.
Restaurant. Breakfast. Clearly understaffed, had to wait 10 minutes for anyone to appear front of house. After seating two couples who had been waiting even longer we were seated at a table which had received a cursory dusting but still had a table cloth stained with Jam and coffee. The buffet was standard cereal, yoghurt, fruit juice, beans, potato croquesttes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and toast your own toast. There are no vegetarian options and after waiting over 5 minutes for the fried eggs to be replenished they all came out broken and over cooked.
So in summary, the accommodation was comfortable, the bar was fine, although they had run out of several draught beers and cider, but, fellow travellers, avail yourselves of the catering facilties at your peril. For us, it marred the entire stay.
