The ambience of the hotel and the grounds
Unfortunately the bar meal was not good but they offered me a free drink as compensation
Beautiful grounds, room was lovely - great location - went down to local pub for a lovely dinner within walking distance.
Room in the Lodge was surprisingly cool in the very hot weather
Delightful surroundings - friendly professional welcome on arrival. Pleasant calm room with huge windows - all of which opened which was a bonus on such a hot evening. Neat bathroom and generous towels. Food - good. A particular thank for the room - unexpected.

We had a comfortable stay. The food was excellent and the staff very attentive. It was a good location for exploring Surrey - Polsden Lacey and the Denbies wine estate are great local attractions.
The hotel does host weddings. While we were located in a nearby lodge, I can see that if you're in the main hotel you may find it more disruptive to have a disco blaring while you are trying to sleep. We were warned that these events were happening during our stay.
