Hidden Oasis
Pros:

The staff (who are wonderful!) referenced the resort as a “hidden oasis” and I couldn’t agree more! Baoase (it took me the full 5 days to finally pronounce it correctly 😂) was lush with tropical plants and foliage while still sunny, warm and sandy on the beach. The rooms are equipped with thoughtful amenities and modern conveniences.
The food was amazing and we were glad to have purchased the all-inclusive plan. Creative menus and delicious offerings. Eating on the beach steps from the water can’t be beat!
We will be back!

Magical Resort
Pros:

My husband and I took a long weekend getaway trip to Curaçao staying at Baoase resort. We absolutely loved every minute and left so refreshed and rested. The staff was simply amazing… from Leroy picking us up from the airport to Nigel taking us back, everyone was absolutely lovely and took care of all of our needs! The property is truly magical! We highly recommend and will definitely be back!

UNREAL.
Pros:

This resort is everything you could dream of and more. It’s luxurious, private, STUNNING & you are truly made to feel like royalty. Every single staff member has been fabulous and accommodating, and that is before you even see the grounds. When you arrive, you’re welcomed by a team of people who make you feel valued. The service is impeccable. Housekeeping turned our suite over twice a day and had fresh waters set up by our beside every night. If you are looking for a pampered, relaxing vacation, this is the place to go. Every single member of their team is so kind and inviting. Arranging ride transfers to explore the city was incredibly easy and felt very safe. We even had one of the drivers arrive sooner than expected and he got out of the car to look for us. They remember you by face by the end of day 1. This resort was unbelievable and if you’re able to splurge on it, it’s worth every single cent. I truly cannot say enough good words about Baoase & cannot say enough good words.

Best of the best
Pros:

Absolute best in the Caribbean.
My wife and I have travelled to many islands and resorts in the Caribbean. This is by far the best. We have stayed at Baoase 4 times. Always fantastic.
If you like high end comfort, quiet serene private beach, great food and friendly staff then this is the place for you. Everything is Zen like and tranquil. A great place to relax in comfort.
Anthony, the manager was incredibly kind and attentive.
Baoase is simply the best.

My Caribbean favorite
Pros:

This was my second visit to the resort in two years, and once again it earns a five-star rating. The staff, food, and villas were outstanding. The beach is a secluded paradise, with a man-made island creating a calm, wave-free swimming area. If you prefer, you can also swim beyond the island and enjoy excellent snorkeling. With direct flights from Montreal this is my go to for January.

Fun mother-daughter trip with so-so service
Pros:

I visited Baoase with my teenage daughter the week after Christmas. Prior to arrival the team was very responsive via email for dinner requests, excursions, airport transportation etc. We did experience a flight delay on arrival/ we arrived a day late due to a Northeast snowstorm, and the Baoase team responded immediately and was quite helpful when we reached out.

Our Superior Beachfront Pool suite was gorgeous. The room was large, clean, had a private pool and beach. Housekeeping was thorough and excellent, although several days they had not arrived by 3 pm and I needed to reach out to request them to come. Turndown service was always special, with notes and treats left, as well as incense.

We enjoyed both our private pool and beach, as well as the lagoon beach- and both were spectacular. The resort never felt crowded and we could always find space and chairs. We ate both on and off property- twice at Culinary Beach restaurant, once at Italian night, and once dinner room service- all food was great and they offer kids menus. Breakfast was great and I enjoyed both the food and ambiance.

We used hotel transportation several times to visit Mambo Beach ($22 each way) for shopping and more casual dining, and the WhatsApp feature was great to both request transportation or just to ask questions.

Food was great and well presented. Although we would have welcomed more casual dining at dinner- pizzas, sandwiches etc (or perhaps these options available between 3-5 pm)- especially when travelling with a family.

Shortcomings:

- Certain things are expected at a $2000/night hotel- for three days straight I sent a whats app message to let management know there was no soap in the ladies restroom at the beach- the dispenser was broken. Finally on the fourth day I asked if they could simply put a bottle of soap there if they could not fix the dispenser . Seems trivial but also seems like something housekeeping or the many beach butlers should have noticed before me, and certainly should not have taken 4 days to resolve.

- Dirty towels are left on beach chairs hours after guests have left. At most resorts the towels are taken and fresh ones put down relatively quickly, so other guests can enjoy- here I noticed they made no effort to get rid of trash or dirty towels despite at least 2-4 beach butlers in staff- just an observation.

- We were told when we arrived we always had a table at lunch and dinner on property. However every day at breakfast, I was asked if we would be coming for lunch or dinner- often I did not know as we tried to relax and not plan too much in advance. I did not mind the questioning, but we didn’t have firm plans.

- Would have loved a water cooler at beach with cold tap water- most caribbean resorts have this option, even if you need to fill your own reusable cup. All of the glass
water bottles seemed wasteful and of course an additional charge. There is a mini mart 5 min walk away if you want to purchase wine, gatorade, sodas etc.

- We were part of the Venezuelan airspace cancellation and in my opinion the hotel could have done better. I informed them at 09:00 that my flight was cancelled and that I could not rebook for 3 days. I was told by the hotel manager Anthony that I could stay in my current room at least for that night and possibly longer, but at very least I could stay in the hotel even if I had to change rooms. He even offered me a 10 percent discount for that evening (obviously with no flights out no flights were coming in either so our room would have been vacant had we left). I appreciated this, as I was travelling solo with a 13 yo. Several hours later I reveived a phone call from the front desk asking for my flight details, what time I would be leaving the next day, and was informed that I may not have a room to stay in after all. You can imagine my disbelief as had they been honest hours earlier I would have checked out and found other accomodations. Thankfully I was able to find an earlier flight out so I do not know whether we would have been left without accommodations or not. Interstingly, while trying to figure out what to do- I see a room available both on Expedia and Baoase website, which I notified management of and even offered to pay the higher price/ which they had little answer to and still didn’t guarantee me the room. Of note, I was told my additional night would be at a 10 percent discount yet this was not reflected upon checkout. Overall there seemed to be poor communication between the guest services answering whats app, the hotel manager, and the front desk manager. All making for a stressful experience given the travel circumstances.

- Would have preferred some more moderately priced or free activities over Festive season. Even simple activities like ornament making, cookie decorating, snorkel tour-
$100 for a crab race?! Come on. If it had been $10 or $25 we would have participated and purchased several, but it seemed extravagant after the price of the room.

-Preference and service did not seem consistent amongst all guests

We have travelled all over the caribbean- 50 times to Grand Cayman, 20 times to Turks and Caicos, as well as numerous other 5 star locales/ St Lucia, Bahamas, St John, Anguilla, etc. While we certainly enjoyed our stay and had an enjoyable vacation with fabulously warm weather, and made family
memories, I am not sure I would come back here given the price point and overall feel.

Wonderful Family Vacation
Pros:

Another wonderful experience from opening greeting to closing Team Goodbye!! This has to be our favorite resort, this was our third trip. The 1:1 experience and feel the Team provides is beyond approach. Everything was perfect from beach service, the Chef’s Specials (Oliver), and Christmas Trees in our room. Cannot say enough about the people who run this Resort, top notch. The ambience is relaxing, thoughtful, and always accommodating to provide that extra effort. Thank you all, we will see you again soon!

Impeccable Hospitality, Peaceful Ambiance, Beautiful Anniversary Experience
Pros:

My husband and I stayed at Baoase Luxury Resort to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and it absolutely did not disappoint. We purchased the all-inclusive meal plan, and every meal was a true five-star dining experience—not the typical “appeal-to-the-masses” buffet you often see at resorts. Everything was made to order, restaurant-quality, and the team was happy to adjust dishes based on dietary preferences. The cocktails and drinks were easily 5+ star as well.

From the moment we arrived, the service and attention to detail were exceptional. We were greeted the second we stepped into the impressive, beautiful Balinese-inspired interior, with several staff members welcoming us—including the Resort Manager. We were given cool aromatherapy hand towels and a delicious welcome drink, and then whisked away for a property tour that ended at our room. No standing at a check-in desk, no paperwork routine—just seamless hospitality.

Our room was beautifully prepared and thoughtfully stocked: leather room keys, all information organized on the cocktail table, a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, fresh flowers, and fresh fruit (including dragon fruit). The amenities were top-tier—high-quality linens, a Sonos sound system with a tablet, a coffee machine, hot tea service, and a stocked mini bar.

A quick note on room selection, especially if you’re booking last-minute: because we booked relatively late, the only room available for our dates was the Colonial Room (a large one-bedroom). We understood it did not offer a water view, and that wasn’t a concern since we planned to be out and about during the day. The room itself was spacious and well appointed. However, I do want to flag an important consideration: it was very noisy starting around 7:00 a.m. We heard a repeated bumping sound that seemed consistent with staff going in and out of a door below us (the room is on the second floor and the office area appeared to be beneath it). There was no sleeping in, and the noise carried even over the A/C and ocean-wave sound we use to sleep. If a good view and sleeping in are important to you, do not book the Colonial Room.
Logistics were easy too: you can arrange private airport transfers through the resort, and transportation is available if you’d like to head out. That said, if you enjoy a scenic walk, you’re about 25 minutes from the town center, with restaurants and cafés along the way.

My husband and I have traveled extensively, and this was genuinely one of our top five resort experiences worldwide because of the service, ambiance, culinary excellence, and peacefulness. Special shoutout to Anthony, the Resort Manager—present, attentive, and genuinely engaged with guests. He greeted us upon arrival and was there to send us off as we headed home, which says a lot.

Areas for improvement (shared only because the overall experience was excellent): there may be a training/consistency opportunity with housekeeping. Fresh fruit was left in our room for the first three days, and then it stopped. Also, the first-night turndown service was stellar—battery-operated tea lights, treats, and beautiful touches—but we only had the tea lights that first night. Once the batteries died, they weren’t replaced on subsequent evenings, so that “signature” turndown experience didn’t continue consistently. None of this took away from how much we enjoyed our stay, but for a resort operating at this level, I’d expect those details to be more consistent.

What would make it even better? More on-site activities and a larger gym. That said, we understand they’re actively expanding and plan to add more experiences. Also—bonus memory—we even learned to salsa during our stay.

If you’re looking for a solo escape, a couples’ reconnect, or an elegant family gathering, I highly recommend Baoase. Quiet, beautiful, and a true five-star experience.

Baoase Luxury Resort Review
Pros:

From the moment my wife and arrived at Boaose Luxury Resort, we were swept into an atmosphere that felt alive with energy and warmth. It’s where Bali meets the Caribbean run with Dutch efficiency. The staff here are not just attentive—they radiate high energy enthusiasm, making every interaction feel like a celebration. A shout out for exceptional service goes to Kadehisha, Monique and especially Joey the bartender. Thank you, guys.
The resort’s setting was nothing short of spectacular. Whether we were lounging on our balcony or strolling along the private beach, the best scenery is a constant reminder that you’ve landed in paradise.
Dining at the property is a highlight in itself. Every meal feels like a masterpiece—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From locally inspired dishes bursting with Caribbean flair to international favorites elevated with creative twists, the food is consistently wonderful.
Boaose Luxury Resort is not for the faint of heart, budget wise. If you’re seeking a destination where luxury meets joy, this resort delivers in spades.
The only negative we found was there was no Uber like service on the entire island. The hotel would gladly assign one, but if you’re in town, you’re on your own.

A once in a lifetime experience!
Pros:

I truly cannot speak highly enough about the Baoase resort. It offered a level of serenity and relaxation I didn’t even realize my soul had been craving. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt like a warm exhale—calm, luxurious, and beautifully intimate.

The staff is exceptional in every sense of the word. Their attentiveness goes far beyond good service; they anticipate your needs before you even think to ask, ensuring every detail is flawlessly executed. The food alone is a reason to visit—each meal felt like its own culinary journey, filled with vibrant flavors and unforgettable dishes. Absolutely nothing is left to chance.

A heartfelt thank-you to the incredible team members who made the experience even more memorable: Lynn, Pablo, Kieren (sp?), and Rowan. And I can’t forget the most wonderfully restorative massage from Esther—truly one of the best I’ve ever had.

Baoase is, without question, a once-in-a-lifetime escape. I’m already dreaming of the day I can return.

Absolute Paradise – Incredible Food, Drinks & 5-Star Service!
Pros:

I just returned from an unforgettable stay at Baoase Luxury Resort in Curaçao, and I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, personal, and truly world-class. Every staff member made us feel like VIP guests.

The food was phenomenal — beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Every meal felt like dining at a high-end restaurant, and the cocktails were just as impressive. The bartenders really know what they’re doing; every drink was perfectly crafted and delicious.

The atmosphere throughout the resort is serene and luxurious. Whether relaxing by the pool, enjoying the private beach, or having dinner by the water, everything felt like a dream. This is the kind of place that makes you forget the rest of the world exists.

If you’re looking for a truly special, intimate, and elevated escape in Curaçao, Baoase is worth every penny. We can’t wait to return!

A beautiful escape…
Pros:

We visited Baoase for my husband’s birthday. We booked through Expedia and had a great time. I emailed the hotel prior to my arrival to request airport transfer and a tour. The reservations email was responsive and had everything all set when we arrived. This was our first time in Curaçao and booking the taxi with the resort made things stress free. The taxi was ready to go when we arrived (even though we were delayed a bit) ride to hotel is quick. The drivers were professional and helpful. We opted for the all inclusive meal plan and happy we did because the food was delicious. We ate there everyday except the one day we went on a day tour to the west side to the beaches. I appreciated the ability to drink bottled acqua panna water and the options for liquors was more than enough. The tour was excellent and Carlos was a great guide. I highly suggest the west end tour as we were able to swim with turtles and see a few beautiful beaches. We also had a delicious lunch at Playa Forti.
The staff was all very kind and professional. They made my husband feel special by remembering his birthday and even set up a nice surprise in room. The resort is small and kept very clean. We had a great, relaxing time. There was some construction on the beach and they were cleaning the pergola covers on one day but it was not too disruptive. We felt safe and welcomed by everyone, which is very much appreciated. Overall I recommend this resort for a serene escape. This is not a party resort.

Luxury Caribbean Stay
Pros:

We went for a short 4 day stay stay to this special resort. It was unusually hot but the waterfront location and pool was very inviting and welcoming. We loved the decor and Bali type vibe. There was some construction next door and they graciously offered to move our room when we checked in. The food and drinks were phenomenal and I recommend the all inclusive option for a seamless stay. Best food of any all inclusive we have stayed. Beach snacks daily were a special treat. It was a little annoying to sign a check for every drink ordered etc. with all inclusive and didn't really know how to tip. The staff were friendly, laid back and knowledgeable. Perfect for very luxurious quiet vacation but expensive. We had to stay in Aruba the day before because of flight limitations to Curacao but that was fine.

Pros:

My husband and I visited Baoase for our honeymoon and it was beyond anything we could have imagined. Everything had a personal touch. The staff were incredibly kind and the food was amazing. Stunning, Stressful, and Strange
Pros:

Ask yourself, do you feel lucky? This was one of the most confusing and disappointing trips we’ve taken in the Caribbean. The resort looked beautiful online and most reviews seemed to be positive. As we frequently rely on TripAdvisor reviews, we were hoping we could take a few of the more negative reviews with a grain of salt. We were wrong. We felt forgotten as guests from the start.

We were excited to spend time here to celebrate both our anniversary and a birthday. While I could see how folks would enjoy spending time here given the perfect set of circumstances, ours was anything but. Generally I’m willing to overlook a number of issues before being frustrated with an experience, but the issues never stopped.

At a high-level, if you are saving to go on a luxury beach vacation, this place is not worth the gamble or the extremely high cost you pay.

The good: Epic rooms (particularly recommend the Beachfront Pool Suite), really neat lagoon design, great food

The bad: drastically inconsistent service, strange staff encounters, forgotten requests, bad value, and underplayed construction noise. The construction could have been overlooked but the other hotel issues made it nearly unbearable at times. There is also a football stadium nearby so expect to hear whistles and pumping music late into the night on weekends (wasn’t a big deal for us, but could be if you are noise sensitive)

Before going on it is important to note the important and awesome staff who made our stay bearable:

Ilsa at the spa is a master of her craft, if there was one discrete positive experience from we will remember it was her incredible skills at the spa
Awesome beach service from Teresa, Rowan, Bjorn exemplified luxury service on the beach
Sully - was very kind, responsive and just generally on top of it
Midas - a manager who gets it, who saved more than one evening for us, and is overall an awesome human
Pascal - a recent staff add but was hyper aware and responsive to any and everyone’s needs

Our issues began when we were booking the resort. The booking process requires you to call the hotel to put down a deposit instead of through the website. No problem, I called the next day and provided a card, only to receive an email the following day that they had not received payment and needed me to call them back. Confusing. Then, they ignored the email they sent, and emailed again asking for additional booking information; clearly there was a disconnect here.

We booked the “Total Romance” package, excited for the ease of transport to and from the airport. Hotel staff provided no instructions on how this transport would be provided, so like other luxury hotels we assumed someone would meet us at the airport. Instead, nobody was at the airport and with no instructions on how to get to the resort, we had to ask a random individual supporting another resort if they knew where to wait for the Baoase taxi, which led to them volunteering to call the resort staff. We had tried to call but the main hotel line apparently shuts down to external calls after 4pm, which is totally unacceptable given that the hotel provided no other means of contact on arrival. It then wasn't clear if the driver was affiliated with the hotel or if we were paying for a separate taxi service. It was stressful but we rolled with it, only to find out later that other guests who paid for this same package were swiftly escorted through customs and escorted via luxury transport to the resort. Why were we forgotten?

Upon arrival we were asked to stand on the street while we waited for management to form a strange greeting line, which took 5-10 minutes. It was clear our arrival was a surprise and we weren't allowed to enter until the staff were ready.

The rooms:
None of the room controls were entirely evident and nobody explained how to operate the AC or fans, or lights. The locks were not evident and housekeeping inconsistently locked different doors making it difficult to navigate. With respect to cleanliness though, the housekeeping did an excellent job keeping things very clean and restocking towels. Turn down included a nice treat and quotes (even if a few were repeated multiple times).

As part of the total romance package, fruit was promised each day. My wife very much looked forward to this. It was forgotten on our third day and taken away before we could enjoy it on our first.

The Android tablet is a huge issue, it can start playing music that won't stop (even if you power it off). It is also incredibly slow and the tablet loves to wake to turn on in the middle of the night and wake you up. Other guests experienced this as well and had long term issues.

They also had an unusual room refrigerator refresh policy; you must ask to have it restocked. That wouldn’t have been a huge issue but again the inconsistency made it one. They were responsive to our requests but the first two days nobody approached us but strangely on the 3rd day we were hunted down on the beach to sign a receipt.

There was a cockroach in our bathtub one night, but that didn’t phase the husband. The wife is thankfully just learning about this now.

There was some forgotten snorkeling gear from the previous tenants right outside our beach entrance, which nobody caught. It wasn’t an issue, just an observation.

The service:

Our first night we had an item or two from someone else’s table, but because we checked we were able to get it resolved, no big deal.

After our first breakfast we were awkwardly chased down to inquire if we would be back for lunch, of which at the time we were unsure of. It was strange being yelled at and chased down publicly. This continued almost every morning with the exception of the two times our servers actually asked as we were seated. It seems a bit strange to ask this of every guest every morning when the resort places so much weight on the itinerary planning and vehemently stated reservations were unnecessary because they automatically planned for on-site guests to have a place to dine.

Breakfast wasn’t the only time we were awkwardly pursued by servers. After one dinner, we waited for 45 minutes for a server to close out. We finally decided to leave, since they knew our room number as they asked upon our arrival at dinner, and figured that this resort, like any other hotel we’ve been to, would be able to just add it to the bill. Given the guidance on tipping combined with the abysmal overall service, we assumed they would auto-grat a percentage or not charge any.

So, you can imagine our surprise when 30 minutes after our departure from the restaurant, after we had the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on and were trying to salvage the evening by enjoying the view of the lagoon from our room, we heard whispering by our patio door. Both of us, privately dressed in our robes thinking we would be undisturbed, were interrupted by two staff who stealthily entered unannounced through the staff only entrance near the back of the room’s private patio. It was incredibly awkward and truly bizarre that they would sneak into what felt like a private part of our room, given that you can see the bed from the patio. Upon investigation, our dinner servers had finally appeared asking us to sign the check. Frankly, we felt like our privacy was violated.

Our beach cabana (that comes with the Beachfront pool suite) did not have a wood cube with a menu QR code, so we had to wait for the server to make several trips with menus. When reaching out to the WhatsApp group, instead of responding with the applicable menu link (which is just on the website and could easily be communicated that way) they nebulously said they could assist but didn't say how or when.

Our order button for the rooms private cabana did not work and after nearly an hour we gave up and went to the restaurant. Later our beach server validated it was indeed broken. I don’t fault the beach servers with this, but the hotel should check or be aware.

The beach/lagoon:
At first glance, the lagoon is beautiful. Stunning views and serene. Assuming there’s not construction nearby or loud patrons/children. Because of how the lagoon is situated, any and all noise echoes so no matter where you are by the lagoon, you will hear if someone or something is being loud.

The construction we read about in previous reviews was far worse than we expected. Even with noise cancelling headphones, you could hear the construction. We attempted to escape to the other beach, but you could still hear the construction on the first day, and on the second day additional construction started directly by the other beach (big heavy movers), leaving us no escape.

We did attempt to escape the noise by doing some snorkeling. We’ve never seen so many fish so close to resort access before. You could see schools of interesting fish in both the lagoon and the other beach. The snorkeling was truly phenomenal. The beach stairs to get into the ocean on the ‘guest’ beach are dangerous and unmaintained. It would be very easy for someone to slip and hit their head on a rock, so you just have to be careful. The husband appreciates the choose your own adventure vibe - the wife, and her imagination of patrons who may have been on the less agile side- did not, particularly when spending this much on a vacation.

On the only somewhat quiet beach day with more minimal construction (Sunday), we were ejected from the beach because the hotel was shooting a promotional video and did not desire to have guests in the background. This proved a challenging contrast for folks like us who travel solely to enjoy the beach.

Monday, much of the day was cement or rock cutting that was extremely loud and unpleasant making it impossible to relax. It was so loud, the husband begged for the sound of an angle grinder or buzz saw by the end since - surely those would have been quieter.

We ran into several cases when the guest services desk was not staffed. We also attempted to make several bookings with the front desk and they said they would confirm on WhatsApp. They never did and it took direct prompting to ensure our requests were fulfilled or get answers to our questions.

The Total Romance dinner was a complete waste of money in our opinion. The staff set the dinners up in the most rearward cabanas, obstructing the lovely view of the lagoon. The normal dinner seats on the beach are far superior. In addition they are located next to some loud ventilation fans which destroy the romantic element. (A huge thank you to Midas who was able to relocate us, making the dinner significantly better). The menu provided is also just the multi-course prefix menu, nothing special. While we did appreciate the staff’s effort for the decoration, the experience truly seemed cookie-cuter. We have done over a half dozen luxury beach dinners and this was the least intimate, least thoughtful configuration, and most expensive. This isn’t a service issue, this is something management has dropped the ball on.

Our hotel room keys were deactivated prior to our departure, leaving us stranded outside the room (a little bit stressful). After getting them reactivated, we looked at the scheduled departure timeline where someone was supposed to meet us at our room (they did not). After several minutes, we made our way to the front desk and closed out. Lawrence saved our exit when the hotel’s booked taxi never arrived and our departure was taking too long. He swept into action and ensured we got to our plane on time, while most of the other staff at checkout seemed apathetic.

Unfortunately, we don’t recommend the hotel. For several thousand a night there are much better options in the Caribbean.
