Hyatt Place UC Davis

I was standing at the counter for 15 minutes and had to make noise for the person to come out and check me in (Not in the middle of the night, but at 4 pm). No one cleaned the room or made the bed while I stayed there. On the second day, I ran the shower for 10 minutes, but the water was still ice-cold. I called the front desk and was told by the girl that she was busy. When I mentioned that I was a customer and that, no matter how busy she is, she needs to take care of me, she responded by saying she would send maintenance. I'm not sure what maintenance was going to do other than see that no hot water was coming out of the faucet...I know how to turn on a shower in a hotel room...I told her I was naked and not to send the maintenance guy. I took a cold shower, got dressed, and came down to check out, only to find she had sent maintenance anyway, even though I told her I was not dressed. When I checked out, I was told they would email me the receipt, I'm still waiting for that....

Location was the best part of our experience. Some of the staff were friendly, while others were not. Pool was filthy both days we were there. Breakfast was poor and haphazardly presented. Floors were not clean. Elevator floors were filthy and sticky with some spilled drinks that and took hours to get cleaned after we notified management.

This is one of the most expensive stays in Davis. It is in a convenient location but not worth triple the price for other hotels less than a mile away. The amenities do not compensate the price charged. But staff is very pleasant and helpful.

Good experience overall. The bathroom in our room has a small issue, but otherwise the room was in great condition. The only reason I would not come back to this location is the cost of overnight parking. Since the hotel is right next to campus there was no unpaid parking option. I'll likely stay at another hotel when visiting Davis.

We booked this hotel for our daughter’s tournament at UC Davis. We tried to check in multiple times and were told our room wasn’t ready yet. At the third check in attempt the manager on duty came out to tell us our room was given to someone else and they were over sold and didn’t have any double beds available. They didn’t even offer to give us two kings. We booked weeks ago. Now we are scrambling to find a hotel. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would not trust booking here.

First time staying at Hyatt Place UC Davis, and it will be my last time staying there. 1st room they sent me to had not been cleaned and beds were an unmade mess. 2nd room they sent me to had made beds, but the toilet was fully clogged and wouldn't flush at all. 3rd room they sent me to was an "upgrade" for my troubles, but even that room was substandard. Desk leg was broken and had been repaired with a bunch of ugly electrical tape. Scrapes on all furniture in room. Multiple stains on carpet. Everything just looked rough. The whole hotel is showing its age and needs a good refresh. Breakfast area looked like a bomb went off and was poorly stocked and not cleaned up. There are much better places to stay in Davis for less money. UC Davis deserves way better than a beat up, ratty Hyatt Place.

Basic hotel. In need of updates and additional training for staff.Breakfast was not worth eating. Just buy something off site.

Wonderful hotel but, a lot of extra sur-charges. The hotel is on the UC Davis campus with a lot of eateries and walking sceneries.

Location is perfect for visiting my son that goes to UC Davis. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staffs are great and helpful.

We've been coming here for Xmas for at least 8 years, and always had a good experience. This year however, we had trouble with the toilet flush, but were able to plunge it with the help of the nice maintenance man - there was a little damage to the room divider, taped together with masking tape, and the breakfast was pathetic - everyone cleared their own tables but they were not wiped by staff, the coffee was just brown water, and there were only three types of fruit tea avaible on Xmas and only two types available the day after Xmas. We'll probably come back again next year because it's the most convenient for us, but we hope the breakfast and overall management will be better. The staff we met were all very nice.

Clean hotel with inviting staff. They always make you feel welcomed, and they are very accomodating to those of us who travel with our pets. This hotel is located along the Davis Arboretum, and there are endless trails to explore just outside your door with your family and pets. There are also a few great museums in walking distance, which is an added plus. We love staying here.

Perfect location to attend academic meetings, Mondavi Center productions, or take one animal to the World Class Vet School and Hospital

basic and functional hotel. staff was extremely helpful and responsive and made the stay much more enjoyable. hotel is not within walking distance so i have to do food delivery a couple of times.

Excellent hotel with a superb location. It is right next to campus, including key sites like the Mondavi Center and the School of Law. Wonderful staff, very responsive and kind! Excellent stay!

Perfect getaway to see daughter in Davis. Met all my needs except for not having any black tea available, no English Breakfast or Earl Grey. Only herbal teas were available. In all my travels, this has never happened. Other than that, the staff, the room, the breakfast, the location and proximity to UCDavis, and globalist amenities were truly excellent.

In a good location with areas to walk around the property.

Took 3-4 minutes to get hot water. At a Hyatt? Took 10-15 minutes to get elevator from 4th floor. Something seriously wrong with design of this hotel.
