Pros:

Evening meal was presented well and tasted really good. Breakfast was adequate but not exceptional. Room was clean but felt the decor was very sombre and dark. Ensuite was basic.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Felt the whole property could do with a refresh, decor and furnishings were somewhat "tired" looking and not enough made of the features retained over the centuries. Although next to an industrial area noise levels were at a minimum and not visible from the room.

A very enjoyable one night stay, we need to treasure these old properties, enjoyed the bar area, will return.
