Breakfast was excellent. Lovely grounds and great history. I suspect that the main business of this hotel was as an events venue. For midweek visitors it was delightful.
Some basic maintenance in the bedroom was lacking. The shower head for example would not stay in position and a lampshade was broken. We pointed these issues out when we left and I am sure they were fixed.
The staff were wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. Room was very cute, full of character and the buildings and grounds were beautiful. The breakfast and dinner was delicious.
Loved learning the history of the beautiful old building too. I would highly recommend and would definetely stay again.
A quiet location with nice grounds. Room 3, where we stayed later was really nice with a 4-post comfy bed. The floor creaked, but it was an old building.
The food. They couldn't make poached eggs that had runny yokes. Instead, they were like hard-boiled eggs. The 'full English breakfast was OK, but the sausage was undercooked for my liking. On the last day, the sausage was not a Cumberland style as claimed, so I left it. I did get a poached egg with a runny yoke as I had asked for it. But, there was no fruit salad or pastries, just. buns, - I guess they were awaiting a delivery.
We chose not to have an evening meal there, so I don't know what they were like.
In general, the hotel and the facilities were very much allright. But their nonchalant attitude towards credit card privacy is unacceptable.
Allthough the room and the stay was allready paid in full via booking, the receptionist demanded to write down my credit card and to put it in their database. My protest to the receptionist made no difference, she insisted friendly but firmly. Totally unacceptable.
We stayed here over the last May Bank Holiday and had such a lovely experience from start to finish. Everything was amazing.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well kept, with lots of little hidden spots where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful sound of the birds. It really felt like a little escape.
All the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always smiling, which made us feel at home straight away. The owner was also extremely friendly, professional, and clearly takes pride in the business.
We absolutely loved the breakfast included with the room price – plenty of options for everyone, from continental breakfast to a full English breakfast, all freshly cooked and very tasty.
For an old Manor House, the room was spotless and very well maintained. We had room service every day, a handy small fridge in the room, and the shower had strong water pressure with lovely hot water – always appreciated after a long day out!
Overall, it was a wonderful stay in a charming and relaxing place. We would happily return and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

The Dinners were superb, staff were friendly and helpful
Nothing
Mooie locatie. Niet ver van fietspad richting Canterbury. Kleinschalig, gezellig hotel.
