Overall the hotel is a really great choice. The only inconvenience in our case was when the hot water boiler broke down at night and the shower water was cold.

Perfect lodging and atmosphere in a fairytale city.
Pros:

This is an amazing hotel in the heart of historic Heidelberg. The owner and staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Everything is within walking distance, and I mean everything. The original entry columns to the city stand just a few steps away, We had views of the castle from our suite. The owner told us about the “philosophers walk” just over the bridge for amazing views of Heidelberg from across the river. Our bed was incredibly comfortable & breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There is a lift, so you don’t have to haul your suitcases upstairs. The food in the restaurant was really, really good. We came in tired from a day of exploring and asked if they could send up a plate of food for us, as there was no room in the restaurant. It was delicious. If it is available, book Room 8, the suite. Besides a living area, you also have a deck with chairs and a chaise lounge to relax and look at the castle or just enjoy the peace and quiet. It was the only room left and we felt lucky.

A really fun trip to Heidelberg, being centrally located made our short stay really worthwhile.
Pros:

Really easy to walk to Heidelberg Castle, across the bridge and to the Philosophers' Walk. Right in the middle of the action and close to the main platz too. Really friendly welcome when we arrived as well!

Cons:

It was all good.

Herziges Hotel in traumhafter Lage
Pros:

Die Kommunikation vor der Anreise war schon sehr zuvorkommend. Unsere Wünsche, kurzfristig besprochen, wurden uns erfüllt.
Wir sind mit acht Personen Vormittags angereist und sehr herzlich empfangen worden. Unser Gepäck konnten wir schon abgeben und später in die Zimmer einchecken. Jedes Zimmer war individuell eingerichtet, großzügig, mit viel Charme, die Betten sehr bequem. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Alle Mitarbeiter waren unglaublich freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, mit viel Auswahl, besonders mit frischen Brot und Brötchen.
