Hotel is in old town square with very difficult access by car on very narrow streets, one-way traffic, and pedestrian-only areas. Parking structure is 2 small blocks away so must drag luggage through cobblestone streets. Once checked in . . . The location has good access to open pedestrian walking area shopping, bars, lunch and dinner. Room is adequate for 1 night stay. - very small shower, window opened facing a wall/building 2 ft away. Breakfast was a good German style buffet.
We would have given a 5 if the Laundry service was available. I specifically asked and booked this hotel because they said they had laundry service. We were told that laundry was not available because they needed the laundry for room linens
Awesome place to stay, staff are knowledgeable & friendly, food was excellent advise anyone traveling to Heidelberg to stay here, great view of castle from our room keep up the Great service 6 Stars
Loved the place. Very attentive owner. Bed was supper comfortable. Shower nice and hot. Location was great, right in front of church and short distance to bridge that takes you the philosophers walk. Breakfast was amazing.
Great
The bed was super soft but other than that everything was 5 star
Wrong price she charged extra no A/C
Excellent location
Excellent staff
Fantastic breakfast
The hotel is in a great location and staff are really helpful. The bed was super comfortable. Sadly we asked for a quiet room but we overlooked the main square and it was quite noisy. Our room was not serviced, even though we left the sign on the door for servicing. The hotel staff in reception supplied us with things we needed like toilet paper and new towels and water. If you are going in winter, they have no AC but you can open the windows.
We had a nice stay. The location was excellent in the center of town and close to the castle. The room was very large, but on the 4th floor has exposed beam ceilings which are low in places and the elevator only goes to third floor. The bed and linens were excellent and we liked the slippers and toiletries. The staff speaks English and was especially helpful with some special requests. The breakfast was very good with a large variety of choices. We would definitely stay there again.
Absolutely charming. This is a restaurant first and a small hotel on top. Walk in to the restaurant to do check in. Arrive before 9pm or you may have issues. My room was large and very comfortable. Staff super friendly and the restaurant downstairs I thought extremely good. I would stay again.
If you want to feel like you are staying inside a frat house because you love drunk noise, this is the hotel for you. We stayed in a two room suite directly above the picnic tables, and we had a terrible time sleeping. The noise ricochets off of the church and directly into the rooms.
We stayed for the first 3 days of our vacation. The hotel is in a great spot and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was delicious in the restaurant as well!!
Breakfast was included and was extra good. Dinner inside in the cozy dining room was also outstanding.
Excellent location right in the town square!
The location is excellent, it is right at the town square within walking distant to all the shops, restaurants and landmarks. It feels like a traditional Bed and Breakfast, staff are friendly.
Beautiful place to stay. Located right along the main walk through Heidelberg. Easy access to the castle, bridges and Philosopher’s Walk. Breakfast was lovely and had dinner one night; schnitzel and beef roulade – amazing! Definitely recommend for tourists!
The reception is in the restaurant where we had a late lunch, Buddha bowl enjoyed by my daughter and a German cheese noodle dish enjoyed by myself, (forgotten the German name). Friendly and efficient service. Our room was really cute, in the eaves with a wonderful view over the Heidelberg hill and houses. We could hear church bells and see the lights come on at dusk over the chimney pots! We were able to leave our luggage on checking out and return later to collect it without problem. Centrally based with lots of lovely cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. We used the metro and the bus for easy travel and if you like walking, go to Konigsstuhl for forest walks from Bismarktplatz on no.39. Hans Im Gluck serve great vegan and meat burgers if you fancy some non-German food and have a warm, funky interior with great service too.
The guided tour at the castle is a must. The guide, despite being a quick speaker, was marvellous and had a very dry sense of humour. I will never forget King Ludwig now!
I had a good experience staying at the Goldener Falke. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the space was very quiet. The location truly can’t be beat - facing the main square, a 5-minute walk to the Rhine, and a 2-minute walk to the bus stop to the main station station (5-minute ride). The restaurant was also excellent, with wonderful service. Overall, I’m glad to have stayed here. But I should mention that they are a restaurant that rents rooms, rather than a full-service hotel. This means that they don’t have a secure space for holding luggage if one arrives before or departs the city after check-in (or, if they have one, I wasn’t offered it). I still had a lovely stay, but I hope my mentioning this info helps others not be caught by surprise.
Wonderful location, clean, quiet, … would love to return
