Weather was cool so we didn’t use the pool as it was not heated. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly but not overly welcoming! We felt like an inconvenience vs warmly welcomed guests. Location is great and close to shops, restaurants and bus stop.
Hotellet har en fantastisk beliggenhet.Det var rent og hyggelig betjening. Savnet en vannkoker for å lage kaffe. Aircondition fungerte ikke optimalt.
Employés très aidants! Superbe localisation!
Central hotel in Forio
Where to start came to Forio on a recommendation by a friend who's Italian, so after Naples and Rome we were looking to relax, you can see the hotel the minute you pull up on the ferry, Location is fantastic, Sea, the boats the beach literally on your doorstep, the town is just gorgeous, boutiques, restaurants everything so close, the hotel is lovely, the rooftop pool and terrace with a view you would never get bored of, The reception staff have been so helpful, telling us the best places to go, We love it so much here we've booked another 2 nights, People on here have complained about the noise in the sea view rooms, don't let that put you off having the sea view room Its an absolute must Katie & Pat Doherty
Lovely little hotel right in the harbour. Close to all the amenities and local buses. Excellent small pool on the roof top.
Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels.
Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful property. Perfect location
Perfectly located very near the boat to Naples. Beaches near by and public transport (bus) also close to the (hotel 200m). Clean room, made up every day, very good service, breakfast is standard good Italian. Pool on the roof terrace, the terrace area is good with chairs and tables as well as sunbeds.
I stayed more days than I should have. The more we stayed the more issues. The wifi did not work. It was very spotty. Wifi didn't work at all on the rooftop. We had to leave because the wifi was unbearable. I had to work and staying there made it impossible. Service is so-so. I found it strange that they didn't offer to help with bags and they weren't friendly at all. They rarely greeted us when we passed by. It's mostly for people who don't stay at the hotel during the day and go on day trips. Pool is small and the water is cold. I get the impression that the staff isn't really happy there or are just bored. The hotel is "fine" but more convenient that it's across from the port.
The location is terrible in terms of noise.
The staff were rude and wouldn’t help us carry our luggage. There were barely blankets for sleeping. The location is right next to a nightclub and the noise is very bad all night, and guests arrive at 3-5am drunk making terrible noise. They don’t even provide you with towels for their “pool”. This should never be a 3-4 star hotel. Maybe a 2-star hotel. The price was very misleading. We wanted to leave after the first night.
We booked our trip through Fleetway having seen the holiday advertised on Travelzoo. Four days before our holiday we were informed we'd be staying in this hotel as the original hotel Zaro was overbooked. (We spoke to a few other people in our hotel and they too had been moved at late notice).
Our initial greeting at the hotel was efficient but not particuarly welcoming. We were shown to our room which was on the second floor and opened onto the courtyard. It was very warm and after an early start we feared the worse. However once Aircon was switched on the room temperature was fine. Room 109 was decent size and large king sized bed, a bit firm but relatively comfortable. Good shower, but small cubicle, Had problem with the toilet which was fixed the same day
Breakfast was typical Italian, fruit and yoghurts, meats cheese and cakes, boiled eggs available on the first few mornings but after that only the scrambled egg and fatty bacon if you wanted the 'english'
Rooftop was in the sun most of the time and pleasant place to relax and watch the harbour comings and goings. Pool very small but useful to cool off. There was an indoor pool but we didn't use it
Not sure whether it was the lack of English, but there was little interaction with staff.
We went to have a look where we should have been staying and on reflection we were glad we were in Forio. Plenty of bars and restaurants around
Enjoyed visits to the Aragonese castle, Gardens at la mortela and to the rock at San Angelo. Using the bus was certainly an experience, not for those who don't like standing and being crushed
We were on halfboard so chose evening meal from a limited menu at breakfast, by the end of the week we'd had enough of pasta
Transfers from Naples airport were all included, the local representatives were Sun Lux Viaggi
Would we stay again, possibly, but would want a room with a view and stay B&B
Hotel very clean but would rate it more 3 star
We ended up here by default: for one night. First impressions were, in fairness, quite favorable. The obvious plus is the location. It's immediately off the main road with easy access to the town, beaches, shops, bars and restaurants. Ticked some boxes there then! I'm afraid that's about it though. The room we were allocated had steep stairs to the bedroom from the main part of it: with very insecure handrails. Not ideal for someone who's had 4 surgeries on their knees (no other rooms available, before you ask). We've been to many places in the bay of Naples before. We know what they serve for breakfast and we don't have a problem with that. However, if your scrambled eggs are literally frozen and every ordinarily basic request is met by a ridiculed, quizzical look by the borderline delinquents serving you then that's the time you hope to God that it is only a one night stay here. I asked the reception lad if I had to wear 'long trousers' for the evening meal offering. If I had had the foresight to capture his facial expression in response it would have gone viral on Facebook by now! I'm not talking about a language barrier here. It's about simple, non demanding service. The kind you'd expect of a 2 or 3 star establishment let alone a 4 star which they claim. This may have been a one off: perhaps. We can only speak as we find. Hope this helps.
My wife and I stayed for 4 nights at The Hotel Villa Carolina which is an ideal location for a break in Forio.
We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly and helpful staff member who advised us on the local area.
We had a Deluxe Sea View Room which was well worth paying extra for. It was modern and contained 2 double beds - 1 being on a separate mezzanine area - and so could have slept 4 if we’d so wished. On Thursday and Friday night, there is some noise from nearby bars but this was barely audible when the room window was closed.
Across the road, the pleasant little beach had plenty of space( even in August) when all of the other local beaches seemed rammed with people and we also used the rooftop pool and terrace to relax.
Stanza dotata di tutti i comfort, posizione fantastica e centrale..albergo molto bello e nuovo, personale molto disponibile e gentile. Tutto davvero fantastico,ci ritorneremo!
Great place to stay overlooking the harbour.Roof terrace with views.Friendly staff.Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
The air-conditioning did not work, the bathroom fixtures were falling out of the wall, the door lock fell off the door, the bathroom had moldy tile. Indoor swimming pool was poorly maintained and definitely not worth the money paid. Staff moved us to a room almost half the size with no storage space and room only for one with a smaller bed. I will contact Expedia for some refund as we definitely got a single small room instead of a king size bed and ample room space with Air conditioning and amenities promised. Thank you. Hotel is right on the edge of the marina, brilliant views of the bay and right in the heart of the restaurant and shops. Downside is I can be noisy late at night. Hotel staff were very friendly but the hotel did lack a bit of atmosphere and the communal area could do with modernising. No WiFi in the rooms is a bit old fashioned.
The indoor pool is a non event but the outdoor plunge pool on the terrace was a god send. In all nice hotel fantastic view, great location, acceptable facilities, just be aware it can be noisy.
La posizione centrale risulta molto comoda x gli spostamenti... Comoda la navetta che conduce alla spiaggia di Citara. Le camere standard sono piccole come pure le piscine..due grosse vasche.... Il personale poco accogliente..
