Location was perfect for the event I attended, the staff was very courteous.
Room smelled like wet dog, I sprayed it down and turned on the AC to circulate the air which helped. I was awoken by hammering that sound like it was coming from the room above me, when I called the front desk I was told it was noise from the construction outside which I saw no construction happening. I was told the manager would reach out to me and never did.
The lobby is very nice, and you cannot beat the location.
The hotel is way understaffed. We arrived on a Friday evening and waited 15 minutes for valet and then once checked in could not get either a cart or an employee to help us bring the bags to the room. The room was small and the bed was even smaller- in my book it was a full-size mattress for the two of us and was not great. The floor and corners were a bit dusty - the air conditioner right next to the bed so it got super cold, super fast! Again, throughout the weekend we were subject to the understaffed - waited for coffee, waited at the service desk, et cetera. This is a five star hotel but it needs tlc in the form of more staff, more attention to visitors!
Perfect location, comfortable, good staff
During check out the person in front desk
Customer service - front desk went out of their way to accommodate and to check in as to our comfort.
Air conditioning is far too loud and our shower leaked.
Great hotel, amazing staff and service
Nice, clean, modern
Taking a $100 dollar a night deposit, waiting for it to be returned
I was put into some misfit room (501 - see pictures) with a pole in the middle. It made me feel like I was getting inferior treatment for the same price as everyone paid and detracted from the vibe and experience.
The room was extremely clean and the bed frame quality was excellent. The mini fridge was good. The staff were professional.
The official hilton website states these rooms have writing desks and chairs, but they just have bistro tables instead which isn't sufficient for work purposes. The rooms in the pictures have these bistro tables so guess I should have looked closer. The pictures show a grey bench for at the end of the bed but my misfit room didn't get one of those, so surface space was really lacking. There wasn't any ice machine - there is a bar in the lobby. There's absolutely no food on premises, so make sure to bring some things for breakfast and put them in the mini fridge since it's not NYC and there aren't bodegas right nearby.
The biggest issue: The a/c in my room was so loud like a train it woke me up multiple times during the night whenever it kicked on (during a 50 degree rainy weekend) - earplugs provided might have helped with this. Overall, wouldn't stay here again.
Ubicación y estado de la habitación
El personal muy amable, atento y deseando ayudar. Mención especial Carlos (manager), Paula en recepción y Francy en la cafetería: grandes profesionales
Poca oferta en el hotel para cenar
Everyone who works there was professional and friendly and provided top notch service.
It is a charming hotel located at the most convenient spot. Right across UConn Stamford at the downtown. And walking distance to all the delightful restaurants.
The amenities were great, and the rooms are delightful.
Was quite impressed with the dedicated and most friendly hotel Staff here. They were great - helpful and smiling. Special mention for- Carlos the Front Office manager, Paula and Aaliyah at the front desk.
This is my second stay in as many weeks. Would love to visit again and again.
Located in the heart of Stamford, I figured parking might be an adventure. I pulled up and parked at a meter in front of the entrance, but later realized there's space between the meter and the front door for cars to pull close to the front without paying a meter.
The llobby has about 8 steps from street to lobby. The lobby is nicely appointed, with comfy, stylish furnishings, a gas fireplace, and a bar at one end. The staff at reception were polite and professional.
The parking choice was valet for $30, or an affiliated garage around the corner for $17 a day, with in and out privileges. I opted for the garage around the corner. It was easy to drive to, and the staff gave me the code for the elevator in the garage.
It's easy to exit the garage on foot and walk around the block to the hotel. But when I tried navigating the garage labyrinth to the elevator, I got turned around every time.
The Lloyd placed some signs on the floor to guide you toward the elevator, but they need more. Within the garage you have to go up a small set of stairs and through a door that leads to another level of garage, then to the Lloyd's elevator cubicle, where you enter a code (that you get from reception), to enter, then take the elevator which takes you to the lobby, or to any floor in the hotel.
The room was very clean, apart from pink stains dotted on the sheets, which I failed to notice until the morning. They were laundered but permanently stained.
The bathroom was stylishly dark, but the excessively dim lighting rendered makeup application next to impossible. Ladies, bring a lighted makeup mirror. The usual amenities were fine.
My room, 612, had no closet, but there's a row of hooks along the wall, with hangers provided.
No carpet, just vinyl flooring, gave the room kind of a clinical feel. The lights are all very low wattage.
Strangely, there was a pendulum lamp in the corner that needed a table underneath, but there was no table, just two chairs against the wall. I banged my head into that low hanging light a couple of times.
The bed was comfy, and the TV was fine. Temperature control was fine.
What killed another star, for the review, was the tiny "store" at the lobby. I expect prices to be on the high side, but this was ridiculous. Pony bottles of Modelo for $8. Bottles of wine starting at $60. You can walk 15 yards to the lobby bar and get a full-sized beer for $6. At those prices, they don't exist to enhance the experience. It smacks of some executive thinking, "Hey, we can really exploit our guests at this part of the hotel. "
Another annoyance was the lack of food on site. No restaurant, just the bar. The restaurant the Lloyd is affiliated with was unappealing. The fare was pizza, wings , etc. I would expect a better class of restaurant for the affiliation. I dined at Divina, a short walk away.
All in all, not bad, not great, and I'll stay elsewhere next time.
The staff were all very kind and helpful. Even though the location is very walkable, they informed us that they shuttle within a 5 mile radius until 11 pm, which was super helpful with not having to Uber. Hotel was clean. Lobby bar has a happy hour.
Parking is either valet ($30 per day) or there is a lot around the corner for $17 a day. Street parking out front is available also for about $1.25 and hour, but you can only pay in 2 hour increments. The street parking is free 8pm-8am though there are only 3 spots there.
Lighting in the rooms isn't great for women getting ready. A larger bathroom mirror and better lighting would be helpful!
It was cozy and comfortable
