The stay was overall good. However it could be excellent if all shortcoming could be eliminated
Pros:

The location , lunch and breakfast options incl room service

Cons:

Some of the reception staff were not helpful and this caused several issues during our stay. Although early check-in was confirmed on arrival, the room we were given still had a maintenance worker inside, so we had to return to reception and request another room.
We also asked reception to book a taxi for the evening. The booking was made under our original room number rather than our name, which caused confusion after we were moved to a different room. When we asked reception to check with the taxi company, we were told the issue was our fault, even though the taxi had been arranged by the hotel. As a result, we were late for our venue.
The next day we were also given the wrong room key, which suggested that our details had not been properly checked.

Pros:

De uitstraling van dit prachtige Art Nouveau-gebouw. Dit vroegere hoofdkantoor van de Holland Amerika Lijn werd zeer geslaagd getransformeerd tot hotel. De nostalgie druipt van de muren (zowel binnen als buiten). Het hotel heeft ook een zeer bijzondere ligging: vlak aan de Wilhelminakade, naast de Rijnhaven, te midden van de hoogbouwtorens die de indrukwekkende skyline van Rotterdam vormen.

Mooi, groot, vriendelijk en net personeel. Goede locatie om Rottrrdam te gaan zien.
Cons:

We hebben een "luxe" prijs betaald voor de kamer, een koelkastje op de kamer zou fijn geweest zijn....

Pros:

Prachtige ruime kamer met supermooi uitzicht over de Maas en de stad. Heerlijk bed, schoon en fijne badkamer.
Locatie is heel goed om centrum van de stad te zien, de haven en musea. Goede restaurants goed bereikbaar te voet. Goede metroverbinding met centraal station en de rest van de stad.

Cons:

Niks van het hotel. Er meerden 4 Turkse marineschepen aan pal naast onze hotelkamer. Erg veel ronkend lawaai van een motor of generator. Dit duurde tot diep in de nacht. Slecht slapen.

Ontvangst zeer vriendelijk, upgrade naar de Rijnhaven kamer, (fantastisch uitzicht) en het eten bij NY Basement was fantastisch. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Unique inside and out
Pros:

We loved staying at this iconic hotel (so iconic it is memorialized as a KLM house iykyk). Our room was small but had everything we needed with a great view over the water. The service was lovely and welcoming - we even arrived quite early and they let us into the room without having to wait or pay extra (rare these days). We ate at their restaurant (super tasty) and then walked around the area - a perfect neighbourhood to explore - close to museums and lots of restaurants.
Our room was a little loud until midnight as we were next to a private entertainment room - and there was a super loud holiday party.
But - overall would recommend this hotel to others as its aesthetically interesting and unique.
