Troia Design Hotel

The whole place is dark and gloomy. It has a very austere feel and management are penny pinching with 1 bottle of water per stay.Never known a place like it.

Clean spacious rooms, good staff, and decent breakfast. Hotel was a bit run down and it's definitely not a five star hotel. Very close to the ferry to Setabul which was very convenient. The beach was extremely beautiful. The gym was very basic, but the pool was great.

Troia Design hotel is a unique hotel in a beautiful location. Rooms, pool, amenities, staff are amazing. The community is lovely and August is family month and every evening outside the hotel is a festival with music, food, movies, games, etc---very enjoyable. The beaches are beautiful and the sunsets--breathtaking. There are two ways to access--ubers /bolt/taxis can't get you there--and if you are driving there is a ferry that can take you and your car there--or for those like us, who didn't rent a car, there is an easy ferry that transports people to the hotel and beach area and then back to the mainland where you can pick up your vehicle or grab an uber/bolt. Avoiding the ferry adds another hour drive to the hotel. Look at the map and take the ferry!

We stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

From the very beginning, we noticed that the staff were not attentive to the guests. For example, we asked for a corkscrew and had to wait more than two hours to get it. Even worse, we found cut toenails on the terrace... and it took over an hour before someone came to clean them up. At this price level, it is simply unacceptable.

We had booked a deluxe apartment with a kitchen, fridge, and oven. To our surprise, there was absolutely no kitchenware: not a single plate, not a single fork. Quite absurd for this kind of accommodation.

Overall, the staff (outside of the spa) lacked professionalism and friendliness. We had to wait a long time before someone came to see us, and even then it was done reluctantly, with no real effort to make the stay pleasant.

The positives: the view, the outdoor pool, and the breakfast. The big highlight was the spa, where the staff were professional, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their work. This was the only part of the hotel that lived uk he expected standard.

Unfortunately, this was not enough to make up for the rest. We regularly travel to Portugal, and this is the first time we have encountered service that was both unfriendly and unprofessional.
Conclusion: a very disappointing stay, with completely unacceptable value for money. We will not be returning.

A perfect place for a family vacation.

Excellent location. The hotel looks great from the outside. Wonderful views. Our room was very spacious with 2 toilets. Breakfast buffet Had variety, but was crowded. Front desk staff lacked professionalism and number. Had to wait for ages to see someone. Had dinner at the hotel on the first night, nothing to sing a out and found a hair in the pasta. They apologised and removed it from the buffet.
There is a small Beach next to the hotel,but access is not easy to spot.

Tip for management: train your staff

The stay was amazing but we left a gold earring on the nightstand, wrote to the hotel to notify and never received word back.

We came as a family of 6 ( 4 adults -2 kids) . Rooms were spacious and clean . Lots of room for extra beds ( cots) needed for the kids. Staff was very friendly . Easy and early check in which we appreciated . Entertainment provided in the lobby bar was top notch . Breakfast buffet was busy but they kept everything full
So even if you came later in the morning you were well fed. Great place to come for a few days .

Despite being welcomed by two full days of heavy downpour, our stay at Troia Design Hotel turned out to be thoroughly enjoyable. Here’s why it left us smiling:

– Indoor swimming pool: A lifesaver when the skies opened up—warm, inviting, and perfectly relaxing. It became our go-to refuge and offered just the right escape from the drizzle.
– Great breakfast: Each morning, we were treated to a wonderfully varied breakfast spread. From fresh pastries to hearty classics, there was something for every mood—and it never failed to start the day off on a high note.
– Very comfortable room: A snug, well-appointed room where we felt truly at home. The bed was dreamy and the decor clean and thoughtful.
– Amazing balcony view: Our balcony overlooked a breath-taking vista, even through the rain. Watching the mist over the water from there was unexpectedly soothing.

Piscina, Restaurante, Quarto top. Hoteis do Grupo Blue & Green são top em todos os aspectos. Parabéns e até para o ano 😉

Room was amazing, bed so comfy and unreal views of the pool and ocean.

We had a very bad experience with staff at lobby bar and luggage, luggage person never even approached us till we said something, lobby bar girls were very rude when we asked for a simple drinks and bottles of water. We travel alot and always look for 5 start hotels, it's not our first time at Troia Design but have never been treated this way. Also the hotel needs to be redone as everything is looking old and not taken care of. One of our rooms in the 3 bedroom suite had carpet in the bathroom..who puts carpet in a bathroom? It's getting very outdated...don't know if we will be back. Before judging me for my coments please see how much we spent at hotel for one night.
