Awful hotel. Reception area looks nice, rooms are awful and would give it 0 stars if this was an option. Tried to arrange airport shuttle and the hotel tried to really scam us by quoting 6000 INR. The rooms were terrible, they were not really cleaned, dirty towels were folded and placed back, bath tub dirty and stained, Hotel room was really terrible. I would not ever book a stay with them again. It was the only last minute option but the tents would have been better!
This hotel in Prayagraj is excellent. Whether you are with family or traveling alone, you must visit here. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, offering great comfort. The facilities provided are top-notch. One of the highlights is a dedicated parlor for women, which is truly wonderful, so you can enjoy that as well.

I am sharing a horrifying experience at GRAND CONTINENTAL HOTEL, PRAYAGRAJ (CIVIL LINES). I am sharing this to warn everyone. Do not be fooled by their reviews. They practically force you to give good reviews and get aggressive if you dont. The reception staff are intimidating and not welcoming.
The hotel claims to be 3 star hotel but has tariffs of 5 star and staff service of 1 star hotel. The front desk staff (esp. Zareena) was discourteous and staff has zero service attitude. To top off the pathetic experience, hotel overcharged me for more nights than I actually stayed. I fail to understand how can they charge as much as Kanha Shyam, Radisson and Sarovar Portico for ordinary rooms, uncooperative staff and bad service.
The hotel thinks it has a monopoly in Civil Lines area. The worst part is that the entire hotel thinks as if they are doing some charity if you stay there. The bell boys keep looking at you and call the room number unnecessarily. As a girl, i did not feel comfortable and felt HARASSED. It felt highly UNSAFE to stay in this hotel.
The rooms are not what they show in photos on Google. We were a group of 4 and all rooms were poorly lit, smelled of mould with old amenities.

I strongly urge potential guests to never go to GRAND CONTINENTAL HOTEL. This place is a nightmare. If you've had similar experiences, please share them to prevent others from going through such traumatic events.
Hotel Kanha Shyam just a few meters away is a much better option. Go there.
Its a 3 star hotel with 5 star tariffs and 1 star poor service and staff attitude. The hotel (small lobby) was currently under renovation. the rooms are big but they lack modern infra, the feeling was of a guest house of an educational institute. I don't understand how can they charge so much ordinary rooms with ordinary washrooms and facilities. The front desk staff was discourteous and added to the pathetic experience, there was no service attitude. the rooms service was slow, intercom was not working on day 1. overall a not so good experience, no need to spend money here, instead choose something similar at much cheaper cost and better service.
This centrally located property in Prayagraj is currently under refurbishment. The restaurant on the ground floor, for example, has temporarily been moved to a banquet room on the first floor. Our experience at the hotel was hardly affected by this. Our 3rd floor suite was serviced by an elevator. The views from the rooms are on to the adjoining plots —hardly of interest. The four poster king-size canopy bed was quite striking; it was comfortable and the rooms themselves relatively silent. The suite is well-appointed with a minifridge, an electric kettle, and enough chairs and a working desk. There are many electrical charging points which were all working. The wifi connection we found was poor (Room 314). (I checked that the connection is better in the reception lobby.) There were two flat screen TVs but one was out of order. Also, the cable TV connection did not subscribe to international news channels such as BBC or CNN international. There was a bathroom and a WC. The main bathroom has no hand-shower nor a shaving mirror. The basic toiletries and enough clean towels were provided. But, most importantly, there was no hot water. This in our view was the most serious handicap of this place. On the last day of our two-night stay we brought up the issue with the Reception. Though we ascribe the issue to an oversight on the part of the managerial staff, their response was immediate. Two persons came around to check and decided there was a fault in the geyser. It was repaired within half and hour. The breakfast spread is very decent. The food at lunch/dinner was too spicy for our taste and it took a long time to prepare. Overall, our stay was pleasant.
Good hotel, smooth check-in, quick service, rooms were clean , we were a group for 2 days, handled our immediate requirement of buffet dinner.
Reception staff handled our check-in to department efficiently, the room cleaning and staff at restaurant were polite and humble.
Worth staying here, will certainly recommend.
Elevator does not work, Mold smell in rooms. Not hygienic for the class of hotel. We reserved 3 rooms to accommodate family with 3 senior citizens who could not take a flight of stairs. Inspite of the knowledge of senior citizen the Manager Aziz could not accommodate us and gave us rooms on 2 nd floor where the elevators don’t work. Breakfast staff and service was good.
One of the finest hotel located on prime location in Prayagraj with swimming pool facilities. The staff is very cooperative and food is really amazing. Stayed there for 2 weeks and felt really good. Thanks to all staff members for the wonderful stay. BR//Sunil Chhabra
Hotel is located in the best area, shopping malls were closeby, Railway station was hardly 2 kms.
Room was clean, food in the restaurant was delicious and enjoyed the paneer lababdar. We had smooth checkin and the staff were smiling and friendly.

I discover this hotel 7 years ago and I came this year also. For the quality of the wecome and staffs, all so caring and smiling. At the reception the staff are excellent and I trust them to help, answering questions and always finding solutions !. For the security also:
Travelling alone from France to Prayagraj, as a women I appreciate the security I find here. And the confort : very good mattresses, cleaness, very good restaurant with excellent breakfasts, top swimming pool and quietness.
Check-in process was hassle free and Mr Ashish Verma made it quick. He was always responsive to our queries and knowledgeable. Breakfast is good and staff at the restaurant and house-keeping section was extremely polite and courteous. Hotel GM, Ms. Zareena was polite, courteous and helpful. She addressed our queries quickly and has a decisive stance.
Comfortable, clean and quiet room. I would stay here again.

Rooms are large and spacious and check in was smooth. Staff are kind and welcoming. Plenty of hot water and the breakfast was excellent.
Giving four stars because we did have to ask for more towels from house keeping after we arrived and I didn't get a chance to use the supplied hair dryer so no clue if it works. Unfortunately, there is no elevator in the area we stayed so there was some difficulty with the stairs.
Call in advance to make sure you have a ground floor room if you need it.
