Room layout. Helpful staff. Grateful for the no quibble refund.
Fawlty Towers. Each section of the hotel we trudged through to get to our room smelt like something weird and different…mould, sprouts, bananas (?!)…shabby, run down. Holes in the carpet, mould in the bathroom. Absolutely miles to the room from the reception. Reception area completely run down with dripping air con. Greene King you need to close this hotel and keep the pub. Staff need to iron their shirts…(a silly thing…).Also unbelievably ridiculous price. We knew from the start it would be bad…reception and a real key 🤣🤣
Goed restaurant. Prima kamers

L’emplacement et le restaurant
Helpful staff comfortable beds.
For a basic hotel everything was fine.
I have stayed at the hotel 4 times now, Staff are always friendly.
Convenient location for train into London.
The rooms are dated, some have a damp aroma, although no visible signs of it.
No aircon which made room stuffy and hot this weekend as temps hit 32 degress. A normal standard table fan was in the room but made no difference.
All of the above
The price fluctuation for rooms ... it happens everywhere not just the raven . Keep them same price per room per night . I.e £50/60 70 . Then we sll know where we stand
Everything
Better than expected, ticked all the boxes and great value for the money
Wall paper in area's need attention but that was such a minor i feel guilty mentioning it, wasn't expecting such a good clean and spacious room at such a affordable cost
Excellent value for money... good water pressure, plenty of hot water

Very well located right next to the station. Had dinner at the restaurant and the food was very good and so was the service. My room was fine and had a big bathroom.
My room was a long way from reception with lots of stairs which I found very difficult with my luggage. If I come back I’ll ask for one much closer to the main entrance.
The TV reception was almost non existent.
It was good for what I needed
Some of the facility’s were a little dated
Breakfast ok
Parking ok
Mould in bathroom.
Noise from next room when using bathroom.
Needs outside and inside refurbishing.
Manager needs to be more customer service oriented...not helpful in any way to help request for giving any leway to getting into our room for preparing for changing for nearby wedding.
The whole place in pub area filthy...
Gone downhill since our last visit...won't be booking again...
2 out of 10
food was good
room was a little small and the bathroom was not perfect
Excellent location and very friendly staf
Location. In the centre of the village. Literally a minuet’s walk to the train station.
So so dated. Room decor and furnishings desperately need updating. Breakfast shocking!!! Couldn’t advise me on gluten free ingredients for breakfast. So so out of touch! PLEASE look at offering a proper gluten free/allergen free menu. I asked if certain items contained wheat. The young lady waitress didn’t have a clue as to what I was talking about. She asked the breakfast chef and he/she had no idea either!! I cannot believe they have no clue as to allergens!! My requested gluten free ‘breakfast’ arrived with bread (I presume not gluten free), on my plate, and was barely lukewarm. I managed to eat some of it but once cold the rest was wasted. For me hot food should be hot. My food arrived not even lukewarm. Coffee was cold. I took one sip and couldn’t have any more. £12.50 for a cooked breakfast that contained hardly any gluten free options and was cold with cold coffee! Absolutely shocking! I’ve never had such a bad experience. We have stayed at The Raven a few times over the years, but unfortunately this will be the last. We didn’t stay for breakfast on our second day even though this had been already paid for. Instead we went to Newlyns Farm and had a fantastic, hot breakfast with hot coffee for less cost. Their menu clearly stated gluten containing items and I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast. Such a contrast to what I received at The Raven. We won’t be returning to The Raven again.
