quiet room , helpful staff, nice breakfast

Beautiful inn with a pub/restraunt attached. My best meal in the UK so far! The room is maybe the cleanest rented room I have ever been in! So unique and comfortable. 5 stars, i cant recommend enough

Erything was spot in, the room was excellent, range of drinks excellent, and food quality excellent

They had a wedding going on so it was super loud until midnight. We ate at the restaurant and the service was horrible. The food was good but service was horrible I had to go get the waitress every time we needed something.

Everything was excellent and the room was lovely apart from one member of staff in the restaurant who didn’t seem like she was interested or could be bothered with the job.
When one of us ordered the mixed grill in the restaurant she asked how we wanted it and then we had to find out what she meant and finally she said it was the steak, rather than just asking how we wanted the steak cooked.
Also as a separate note we asked what beers you had on draught and were asked if we meant beer or lager but the correct question would be ale or lager as lager is also beer.

Booked as an overnight stop on part of a long journey, was amazed by the quality of the hotel and the staff

The good points:

*Very friendly and helpful staff.
*Nicely furnished
*Clean
*Good beer

Not so good points:

*when we booked we assumed breakfast was included - £125 in a *** hotel, you would expect breakfast. It wasn't made particularly clear on the booking, we certainly didn't see it anyway.

*Quite a loud party was going on in the function room and spilt out into the outside via, I assume, a side door where it sound like there was some kind of altercation going on... shouting and inappropriate language at least. This was going on right outside our window.

* We both fancied hot chocolate before going to bed but there was only one. I did go into the reception and loitered around for a bit to see if I could spot anybody but was unsuccessful.

The staff were helpful at check-in. I had a double room. The bed was comfortable. Each guest got a biscuit and square of chocolate. There was a selection of teas, coffee bags and hot chocolate. There was an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. The room was very warm. There was an issue with the cleaning. There was hair in the bath and the wall mirror in the bedroom was dirty. The curtains were dirty. I used the pedal bin in the bathroom and the lid fell off missing my foot. The pedal bin lid was broken. The white towels were thick and clean, but one of my towels was torn. There was ample parking. The room was very quiet. There was a little noise with returning guests but no external traffic noise.

Another great stay. Clean and comfortable room and really good menu in the restaurant
