The room was beautiful but the whole experience was turned into a nightmare as all night there were sounds of plumbing noises ..clicking ..banging @ the people above us were not quite ( heard every footsteps) which was not their fault l complained politely @ the bell said l could be refunded if l contacted booking.com which l did ..the out come was that it couldn't be resolved so booking .com kindly gave us a £10 voucher off our next booking but it won't be the bell at Tewkesbury !!! They didn't even phone / tx me or give a complimentary breakfast ..we were travelling on sad family business which l explained @ they didn't even take that in to consideration !!! All about money ???? Where is the customer service from the bell ???
As explained above !!! I would like to update this review now as ROSIE the manager of bell hotel has contacted me directly @ very genuinely sorted this problem out ..with genuine care @ consideration ..she understood my dilemma @ has refunded me accordingly ..this too k place just a week after we got back home ..at the time. The complaint was going backwards @ forwards between booking .com @ the bell hotel ..but ROSIE took the lead @ professionally @ kindly sorted it all out ..and she even called me back a few days later to make sure l had received my refund !!! So with a clean slate @ customer Satisfaction from myself ..l would @ will be returning to the bell hotel @ l would like to offer my total thanks @ gratitude to ROSIE ..from the bell @ Tewkesbury ....
Location opposite Tewkesbury Abbey good. Ambiance good. Room as expected for old building. Quirky creeking floor boards. Relaxed atmosphere. Parking very helpful after long journey.
All was ok.
Good location. Complaint about meal dealt with quickly and satisfactorily
Room excessively hot as next to boilers. Very squeaky - and entertaining- toilet seat!!
The hotel is in a great location opposite Tewkesbury Abbey
The plumbing was noisy - but to be expected in such an old building.
Great location, helpful reception staff. Good breakfast. Stayed for two nights, clean and comfortable. Good value for money.
Thin walls and floors in the annexe, no chance for a lie in.
Clean and functional bedroom, good shower. Good breakfast. Staff were very stretched but coped well and were very friendly.
Had a room at the front of the hotel. Was noisy from around 6.30am with deliveries and road sweeper etc.. Wasn't a major issue and obviously unavoidable..
Parking, clean room, good breakfast, nice staff
Bar drinks were pricey. Rooms slightly dated
Breakfast and location. We have stayed in the Bell before in its especially convenient location opposite Tewkesbury Abbey. The breakfast was better than remembered, freshly cooked and tasty. Our welcome when checking in was great!
Although the room was spacious the floor creaked noisily. The traffic was also noisy because our room was at the front of the building.
This is a charming Inn in a great location across from the Tewkesbury Abbey. It has exceptional character, cozy, relaxing dining rooms and bar. The weather was great during our visit and we loved taking our lunch, dinner and drinks in the outside sitting area. Menu was very good and the staff were the best. Very friendly and responsive to every request.
Everything was fine!
Great staff, lovely breakfast.
Car park signage a little unclear (accidentally parked in private resident space).
Evening meal was good but would have preferred to have Sunday Roasts which had sold out by 6pm.
Family room in Annex - would prefer something within hotel but appreciate this may have been because we asked for a dog friendly room.
As on ground floor couldn't open windows enough due to restrictive catches (and understand why) we would have preferred a bit more ventilation. Room was very noisy with ticking noise or tap drip throughout the night and could hear people in room above.
Evening meal and breakfast service could have been better.
