Lovely old building. Plenty parking. Spacious rooms. Staff were very pleasant and polite and very helpful. The food was lovely in the restaurant. Plenty to eat for breakfast including cooked breakfast.
They had tea and coffee making facilities in the bedrooms, i.e a kettle,sachets of teabags, coffee,sugar and milk. Also 2 mugs.
Unfortunately they never replenished the milk. We was only given four sachets of milk between the two of us and then they never replenished it on any other day and these sachets are very small and very little milk in them. I had to ask a few times for some milk. Which they gladly gave me some which was great, but it would also be good if they could at least replenish that in the mornings when they are doing the rooms.
Also, the two mugs were never replaced with clean ones so it was a case of trying to clean them in the bathroom sink.

All the following was very good, Food, service, ambience location and clientelle.
The property is in need of an uplift from a decoration point of view. I understand the difficulty as this maybe a listed property. Bedrooms in particular need to be upgraded. Room was very hot making it difficult to sleep. The bar at dining areas were a little antiquated and could do with some freshening up.

De ramen kunnen nauwelijks open en het was bloedwarm. Kamers goed luchten en het oude tapijt eruit halen! Verdient wel een opknap beurt dit hotel!

Comfortable and convenient
The property was really traditional and had a lovely rustic feel. It exceeded our expectations and the breakfast was outstanding. Great value for money.
Some areas felt a little dated in our rooms ie: plug sockets were loose, also we only had 1 bedside cabinet instead of 2 and plug sockets were located far away from the bed so was difficult to have your phone on charge close by. Also there was no toiletries to wash hair or have a shower which would have been a nice touch.
It was just a beautiful old building with lots of of character
There was nothing to dislike
The staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were good -we stayed 2 nights and ate there the whole time. The staff were very good with helping with food intolerance. We both slept well and the room was very clean. The location was fabulous for us being able to be within the forest.
The rooms could be updated but for the price and location we weren't worried.
