George Hotel Huntingdon by Greene King Inns

The hotel is in need of maintenance and decorating in the rooms. We had room 15.
The staff are excellent and have time for you so the service is good and friendly yet professional.

2 night stay with family. Great central location & helpful staff. Rooms a little tired but fine. Lovely old building & courtyard.

Nice hotel close to town centre, plenty of free onsite parling.

Property is very tatty/shabby. Our superior room had torn, stained curtains and peeling window frames. Pub smell on entering.

Always book into this hotel. Staff are very friendly and its in the town. Plus the beds are so comfortable

Windows didn’t open enough rooms to hot and no fan was supplied

Lovely building but looks like it has t had a bean spent in it in 20 years. Just sell it to someone who might do so.

Loved it ,everything in the room you might need was there, bed and pillows comfy
We dined there and the service was quick and food just how you want it and hot .
We loved the history of the building and we would love to go again soon hopefully

The location is convenient and the staff are very friendly. Overall the accommodation is in poor condition.

Paid extra for breakfast, didnt come and take an order for 20mins of sitting at table so had to leave with basics. Mentioned it at check out, did not offer to refund. Shame

Property a historic one, so inside and out reflects this...needs some tlc and a bit of thought for less able like grab rails in the bathroom.
Our room was clean and quiet, a fan had been put in and duvets removed because it was so hot, very thoughtful. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was lovely with lots of choice.
We would stay there again.

Unfortunately, the hotel is well past its prime and needs a complete refurb. Shame, as it's a nice building and conveniently located in the town centre. Staff are excellent, though, and the food is OK.

As soon as we walked in the front door wanted to leave,there was scaffolding all up the stairs and when we got to our room it was unreal the floor was not safe for older people it was like it had a hill in the middle. They shouldnt be letting rooms at the prices they are asking when in the middle of a major refurbishment and the breakfast wasnt worth the £12.50 they charged could av got better just up the road at weatherspoons for half the price.i would recommend steering clear till all the works have been done .

I really enjoyed my stay at the George. In historic listed buildings there are always maintenance works to be done and I was impressed how well the refurbishment works, currently being carried out, were being undertaken with consideration and minimal impact on guests. But then on the other hand you can stay somewhere with character. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful which made my stay really memorable and enjoyable. My room was good and comfortable with very comfortable bed and good bathroom. The food was excellent both evening meal and the breakfast. I would definitely book to stay at the George again when next in the Huntingdon area. Many thanks again to the staff for their kindness and interesting conversations.
