Nice size room and early check in.
It was on the top floor, so many stairs and corridors..
Not bad, preferred it when we could get outr own hot water. 'Music" was lpud and noisy - we are both slightly deaf and it made conversation difficult. Staff friendly and v helpfil
Less noise wasn't music to us
Good location great staff good value.
Nothing all good
It was convenient and the staff were excellent
Nothing
It was central
The room was up a lot of twisting stairways, the room sloped so using the toilet was an exercise. There was a constant stream of water running from the toilet down to the wall. The carpet was very old.
The location was good and the breakfast
The rooms were too hot, no air con, the floors were bowed and the toilet/shower had seen better days. It needs a total refurb.
Nothing really
Only the staff who was really helpful
The room was unkempt with a bed and bedding covered in hair. The bathroom was in such a state I wouldn’t even wash my dog’s paws or shoes. Sadly our stay wasn’t as good as we expected
Pictures are doesn’t show the real state of it sadly
I stay at the Bear a lot as it is close to my mum and dad, whom I like to visit often. The breakfast is lovely, and the rooms are always clean. The staff are also nice and friendly.
The Bear could do with a refurbishment as some of the decorations are looking a little tired, but overall it's a great place to stay.
The friendly staff and the location was superb. The food was very good on quality. The included breakfast was very good as well, lots of options.
The room was comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children. Very good value for money.
The hotel and rooms are old and could do with a refurb.
We were able to secure rooms next door to other family members. Free parking to rear of hotel.
Sadly this hotel is very, very tired a fact that only became apparent once we had checked in. We arrived on a very hot day and staff had set up a fan in each room but this really only moved existing warm air around. We also had to contend with an exceptionally noisy hotel generator which could be heard running on and off throughout the night due to the need to also keep room windows open. Obviously all of this may have been improved with adequate air-conditioning but this was not part of the existing hotel infrastructure. We did not take breakfast and instead sought out a local and excellent cafe on the high street for both mornings.
Very hot rooms’ spoilt our holiday, rooms need refurbishing, they stick you in a dreadful spot for breakfast because you have a dog, ordered a lower room because my husband has DVT and arthritis, put as on the most horrible room because we have a dog, drinking is a ridiculous price, don’t bother.
