The view is amazing, that's the reason I booked. The breakfast was also very good.
Design of the room heavily leans on dark red - old fashioned and not pleasant. The hotel is extremely hot, understand the building is old and it probably wouldn't matter but in order to get to our room, we had to go through labyrins of corridors and stairs every single time and some were very uncomfortable. There was not a time when we got it right from the first time and not just us. The hotel should provide better instructions on how to get to rooms.
The balcony view is stunning . Overlooking tge beautiful river wye
Room was too hot . Just a plug in fan found in the cupboard. . Health and safety reasons can only open window a small amount . . Have to pull out the unit to plug in kettle .
Bathroom had damp mould in the corner because of poor ventilation. Decor ok
Lovely big room. The hotel had lots of character and was in a great setting. The terrace overlooking the river was spectacular.
Good location
East parking
Room very clean
This was during ridiculous temp in UK and fans were already in the rooms in anticipation
Room we had was snug
The heat of day and night made everywhere feel uncomfortable
Lovely character place great location
Nothing
Been to this hotel many times before .always excellent, room comfy clean nice bathroom decent bed.food always good had breakfast and evening meal.good selection cooked well.staff are very nice from reception, bar ,restaurant all nice.parking also
Cannot fault the hotel
As always the staff are really friendly and look after us very well. The bar, the restaurant and the rooms are all comfortable and the dinner and breakfast are good. The views across the countryside are beautiful.
Being able to open a window or have air con in this unusually hot weather would have been nice.
The breakfast was really good, and the service was excellent
Reception area needs a lot of attention
Location great, clean and comfy rooms and staff outstanding
Coffee could have been stronger - can’t think of anything else 😊
Great location, courteous staff and a decent sized room with a corner table and chairs as well as a balcony with sliding doors
The beds were softer than we like but that could be a decision rather than mattresses sorting some age.
The bathroom looked tired with a cracked toilet bowl and bath panel. Both the en suite bathroom and the ladies toilet in the bar smelt of damp/ mould.
Our room was on the ground floor with accessible lawn outside that other guests stood and smoked on, which penetrated the room
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were very nice. Breakfast very tasty.
Car park was a bit tight
The breakfast was great, very good value for money! I was especially pleased with the gluten free options as i always struggle to eat out with a gluten intolerance! Our room was beautiful, spacious and extremely clean! The staff were incredible!
The only issue we had with this hotel is that their car park is very small so although it is advertised that there is parking onsite we had to pay to park in the town and walk to the hotel with our baggage due to the hotels car park being full. Just be mindful of this when booking.
The staff in the hotel were so lovely and helpful and friendly nothing was too much.
The room was very big and the bathroom was massive, a little tired though.
The bed was very uncomfortable and a very small double when you rolled over we both nearly fell out.
The staff were friendly and efficient. The views from the veranda are beautiful.
We found the menu was very standard and uninspiring. Cooked okay and the waitress lovely.
Terrace overlooking river
The breakfast was excellent, and the service especially so.
