Ok hotel in Ross on Wye
Pros:

Good size room with views of countryside. Sliding patio doors allowed good ventilation night. Quiet.
Excellent location only 2 min walk from main shopping street.
Reasonably priced.
Staff polite, efficient and helpful.
No problem parking in hotel car park, free of charge.

Cons:

Double bed was rather small. Bathroom small and without ventilation.
Limited choice of channels on TV.
No safe or fridge.
The room was in the annex and was a long walk from reception.
No comfortable seating in public bar.
Limited choice for breakfast and food was ofdistinctly average quality and generally disappointing

Lovely location and attentive staff for a great stay
Pros:

I have stayed before at the Royal and arranged for my family to come here for my 60th birthday celebration. We enjoyed our stay. Dinner was in the main okay, 7 of the meals were excellent. Breakfast was delicious.
Some of us found the beds comfortable whilst a couple struggled with the mattress firmness or softness.
Staff were lovely and attentive. We enjoyed our stay.

Cons:

As above, at dinner gravy tasted of washing up liquid and on smelling the jug it smelt heavily of washing up liquid. One of our lasagnes was overcooked.
2 of the party found the beds very firm, whilst one stated it was too soft.

Pros:

The location was excellent, staff were great, very helpful.
The breakfast was great, Carol the waitress was brilliant.....

Cons:

We were disappointed with the evening meal, basic presentation and small main course, it's a shame as everything else was great.
