Pros:

It's a lovely historical building in a quiet town. Friendly, helpful staff and nice pub downstairs. No late night noise during the week. Beds very comfortable and room clean. Room is a good size. The continental breakfast is excellent.

Cons:

Very low pressure in the shower, taps OK. Parking sometimes a bit difficult.

Maybe better in the winter?
Cons:

Appreciating that it is the summer and the temperatures are a little higher than expected. The fan is the room was not adequate. It was more of a basic heater? we were unable to keep the windows open as there were so many mosquitos and midges. I last about 3 hours before I booked another hotel and moved there. The pub/hotel itself is lovely and the courtyard is perfect for a summers evening, we were sad to move but we had not choice.

Lovely stay in a beautiful room in a great location.
Pros:

The room was beautiful, very spacious and clean. We loved the high ceiling and the exposed beams. The bathroom was modern and also very clean. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Cons:

There were no fan, air conditioning or fridge and the window only opened a little at the top. The weather during our stay was very hot and the room was very warm without a fan or air conditioning. A fridge would be an easy addition to the room where we could have kept our water cool. We would have to think twice about staying here again in the summer because there was no way of keeping cool during the heat.

A little dissapointed on this occasion
Pros:

Staff friendly as always, I like the location have been coming here for years

Cons:

Although I requested rooms as close as possible we were at opposite ends of the hotel, not a big problem though. Window in my room was broken and wouldn't stay open, this was during the heatwave so not ideal. Plug socket at the desk/ table doesn't go anywhere so totally useless. No fan available so a very sweaty night was had. Breakfast used to be included and also 20% off food for hotel guests, but because there were no rooms available on the greene king website I booked through a 3rd party website and learnt when paying for our food that this discount is now only honored if you book through greene king. The carpark is not sufficient, I was unable to park this time. No disabled spaces provided. A bit dissapointed this time sadly.

Pros:

Been many times, love the location and the charmingness of the old building.

Cons:

As it’s old, very creaky and can hear people walking around at night and old fashioned windows but that’s part of the charm.

Pros:

Both the evening meal and the breakfast were excellent, served by great staff, it definitely service with a smile.

Bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was spotless.

A great place to stay and we will return in the near future
Pros:

An excellent breakfast and evening meal where served.
The room was a little "warm" but that was due to the unusual heatwave experienced in the area during the visit and the staff were very accommodating in locating additional fans when requested.
The strongest point of this Hotel is the quality of the staff. Everyone is exceptionally helpful and friendly and always a greeting with a smile.

Great as always.
Pros:

Unexpected up-grade to a superior room on arrival. I have stayed here many times and it's almost a home from home. Staff are always sp friendly and obliging and the breakfasts are second to none. Love staying here!
