The location
We paid £280 to booking.com and they also charged us unknowingly £280 at the property on arrival. We have requested a refund from the property but this has not yet been received.
Amazing situation right by a historic battlefield. Friendly staff. Nice rooms.
Nothing
When I arrived I was met by a young man behind the desk, who asked me if I had got the email from his boss saying that the kitchen would be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays now, which I never got. When I asked him if there was anywhere in the village I could get food he said he didn't know.
Went to my room which was pretty basic but ok, bathroom is old and dated and the shower was pathetic. turned it on full and all I got was a tiny trickle of water
I was asked if I would want breakfast in the morning which I said yes and was told it would be a continental breakfast and he would set it up, it cost £10
When i went for breakfast the room was in darkness so had to turn the lights on myself, there was a few boxes of cereal ,Ric Krispies & Corn flakes, some cold meat & cheese that looked like it was brought out everyday some jugs of juice and a bowl of fruit which had a furry rotten tangerine right in the middle of it. And a few stale pastries
No coffee or tea
Location, price.
Tiny room but adequate.
The rooms were well kept and new in general. The staff were very friendly and helpful, including pointing out sightseeing attractions nearby. The breakfasts were very satisfying.
The dial for the shower was hard to turn to start the water and stop it. Luckily the staff helped me fix the problem. I heard that the shower dials were temporary, so maybe they'll be replaced soon.
Mediocre for £10
The location was nice and staff were friendly.
A continental breakfast was an additional cost on top of the room price. The room stank of dampness, the shower leaked and made the damp smell worse. The curtains were covered in dust and the mattress was very uncomfortable.
Location was great as we visited Culloden and Cawdor Castle. The facilities were good, nice bar with good food. Plenty of car parking space. The owners couldn't have been any nicer, helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
not a lot wrong at all, the rooms looked a bit dated but had everything you needed, the mattress was a bit on the soft side but we still had a good night's sleep. The towels were lovely and big.
Delightful hotel
Walls lacked soundproofing.
The location was excellent, lots of history around and close to where our next destination was.
A great welcoming hotel, the team were friendly, the room I had was very comfortable and had everything required. The food offer both evening meal and breakfast was really good value.
Friendly and pleasant service
No response to my pre arrival communications. I had requested a room with a bath but this was not made available
Evening meal was delicious, had one cooked breakfast and one continental, plenty on your tray, asked for toast rather than croissants not a problem.
Rooms spotless and comfy beds.
Good affordable hotel, compact rooms with a nice bathroom. Good Inn with excellent personnel, good food in a well-suited ambiance. Would love to come back one day.
1645 was clean, cozy and comfortable.
