Absolutely nothing to like about this disgusting location.
Everything! The staff told me the room was fully paid for before arriving so when we did arrive and we were confused about that and asking questions they would talk over us and not explain. The room was absolutely disgusting. The walls were filthy, there was a hole in the wall with exposed wires. I honestly didn't feel safe. It was like walking through a run down building that drug addicts use to live in. It smelled like cigarette smoke. The room had 2 beds in it. On one of the bed covers there was a yellow spot. The staff said it's dog pee and charged us for that yellow spot. Here's the thing I have 3 Great Pyrenees mixes and a king shepherd husky all fully grown dogs, when they pee it's a freaking dog made lake not a tiny yellow spot. My dogs are accustomed to hotels as they go everywhere with us when we travel and they are fully potty trained. I inspected that yellow spot and it was completely dry and didn't spell like pee. But they insisted that it was. The manager acted like he was doing us a favor by charging us less.
We will never stay there again. It used to be our go to spot for family functions and other things because they used to be nice. Now I won't recommend them to anyone again. It was a Very bad experience and I was very disappointed.
Plenty of towels and a nice shower
“Condemned” notices on the doors of many of the rooms. Stains on the drapes.
Loud neighbors with domestic violence.
We should have read the reviews before booking our reservation.
Nothing
Dark, police presence arresting person, bodily fluid stains on pillows, room, and bedding. Broken walls and elevator walls.
Deserves no stars. This is not a hotel anyone should want to stay at. It is not maintained, it does not feel safe. This hotel is in no condition for paying guests. The unhoused seemingly congregate here. Smoking indoors, holes in walls, exposed wires, burn marks and stains on everything. This is a dump. We had to leave and stayed at another place. This hotel wouldn’t give me a refund, I tried calling and only get hung up on. Embarrassing
Everything!
Nothing!
Convince
Was not that clean
I was charged $10 because one towel had a coffee spill on it
I liked the bed it was comfortable and it was nice to have pillows that were not excessively thick.
The room didn’t have any power outlets, I had to unplug the alarm clock to get one. Most hotels have USBs in lamps now but yours don’t. The gym isn’t very good.
The location was good and the renovations seem to be working. it is an old hotel and the ground floor rooms are not safe and have huge gaps under the entrance door. Basic room for the price
Having to use a key versus access card
My husband and I were driving from Vancouver to the Yukon because my dog had hip surgery. I spent a lot of time picking the stays for this journey, they had to be pet friendly and have air conditioning for the comfort of my animal. Do not be fooled by the photos on this website. They are extremely misleading, the hotel is far more run down than it appears. The hotel is half shut down. The lobby doors are not all used and the restaurant has very limited hours. The location is good. We were able to walk to the grocery store and to a restaurant that was actually open late. When we checked in, I explicitly explained to the clerk that my dog just had his hip replaced and that he’d be on medication in the room. We brought as many of our own blankets in for the animal as we could. I don’t know if all the animal friendly rooms are in the same area but our room was as far back as humanly possible and smelt like stale cigarette smoke. The room was very old, in desperate need of an upgrade and a good clean. There were two beds in the room, when my husband went to put our suitcase on the one bed, the bed fully broke. The frame had clearly been “Half ass-ed” fixed from the last time it broke. The Mickey Mouse 2x4 that was holding it together busted and there was screws and wood splinters everywhere. After, what can only be described as the worse sleep we’ve had in a hotel due to the worst mattress and pillows, we left the following morning. Fast forward to today, checking my credit card statement when I see two additional charges from this hotel. I promptly called the hotel and was informed that due to the dog hair and “stains” on the sheets the charged me extra. Once again, my dog just had hip surgery, he drools from the orange coloured medications and some of it got on the sheets. Furthermore, a stain indicates it does not come out. It will fully wash out of anything. My dog slept on the floor in his own blankets but he’s black and his fur shows up on white sheets. When we checked in we were charged a fee for the dog, pretty standard and to be expected but then to have two more charges show up without any information AND no accountability for the second bed in the room that was unusable and broken, is more than a little infuriating. I would steer clear of this hotel in Fort St. John. Try the Holiday Inn or the Best Western. They are all super close in proximity to each other.
Nothing
Everything was filthy the bathtub was falling through the floor staff was awful
Absolutely terrible experience with the Radisson Fort St John.
I called the hotel after check out to discuss the credit card charges to my credit card, that were placed on there without discussion or a receipt. The four separate times I called, I was told the General Manager would call me back. To date, I have not received a phone call or a response. I have emailed twice as well. No response.
I stay at this hotel consistently 1-2 times per month and have for the last three years, but due to this experience, I will not book any more stays at the hotel.
I highly suggest others check their credit cards upon check out, and if there is an issue, don't expect a response from the General Manager.
There was a storage room full of dirty beds that had the door knob removed right beside my room. Once in my room I noticed the drop down ceiling in the bathroom which was beside the dirty storage room . So anyone could access the room from the unlocked storage room. The room was dirty and the was were sprayed with cement. The room looked dirty including a stain on the bed . I was in the room 5 minutes them went downstairs to ask for a refund explaining my reasons. They offered another room but I didn’t feel safe . I left without a refund or my room deposit.
