Relaxing break
Pros:

facilities were excellent and breakfast lay out and food was excellent.

Cons:

there was not a good selection on the menu for an evening meal as it was just the same menu as lunch time.
Also the bar area could be cleaned a bit better after lunch time.

Pool area could be cleaned a bit more breakfast in bedroom last day parts broken plate under toast. Nothing done about it emailed them never emailed back.

Pleasant hotel with good facilities and good food.
Pros:

Breakfast Food was excellent and was served hot. Evening meals were good.
Staff were all very friendly. Service was excellent.
Spa was very good value, 'midweek madness' deal of 80 euro was excellent for 2 treatments.

Cons:

No designated eating areas for adults who are without children.
This is a great hotel for families, but grandparents would enjoy a meal more in their own space.

Food and staff were excellent

Cons:

Room didn't have enough sockets areas seemed run down or in need of an uplift. Showers temperature control was poor in between freezing cold and scalding hot even when set at lukewarm

On the whole we had a lovely stay at the Hillgrove.
Pros:

I liked the location of the property. We also enjoyed the leisure facilities and breakfast.

Cons:

I felt the property was a little dated, Carpets fraying, rust in the bathroom it just felt a little tired.

Only okay, would not be recommending or rushing back to stay
Pros:

Food was excellent in bar shame no restaurant to celebrate our 24th Wedding Anniversary in style, that’s why we chose 4 star hotel

Cons:

No A/C only a fan very poor for a 4 star. Fan too noisy to leave on for sleeping. Chain on door in rm307 broken made me feel very unsettled
A lot of rust in shower area
An empty coke can left on landing to lift from when we arrived to when we left
