The view of the room is SUPER! The breakfast is good.
the rooms carpet has a area of dirt, which is not nice.
Location very good
It gotten expensive over the years
Location and a great breakfast
Expensive over the festival weekend
Staff was polite
Rooms desperately need a refurbishment ,not worth the money we paid
Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Large room, bed linen and bathroom clean.
Evening meals package had limited choice. Room needs decorating and cleanliness of carpet not very good. Corners dusty. No electrical sockets near bed.
Lovely position, quiet and easy to get around
EVERY member of staff we encountered was pleasant and helpful - receptionists who helped with practical matters, bar and restaurant staff with cheerful conversation and advice and cleaners who, beside their regular work (which was well done) were offering to help with heavy baggage to and from the car. This was a repeat visit and we are planning a longer, return visit later in the year. Oh - and the area is gorgeous for walking. It makes a good base for the whole area.
Nothing!
All staff I met during my stay were pleasant, professional and efficient. The staff were definitely a strength of the stay.
The food was good, both in the evening and at breakfast. I was a little suspicious at quite how quickly the order came out in the evening - fearing a microwave meal - but actually both myself and my colleague were happy with the meals we had.
Large room and comfortable bed.
'Garden view room' is stretching a description for the rooms at the front - 'Road view' might be more accurate! The room was large and well equipped, but with single pane windows right next to a busy road there was quite a lot of road noise. It did quieten down overnight, but was very noticeable in the evening and morning. I didn't feel what garden you could see merited the description.
Please, please, please update your coffee offering in the morning. In this day and age it is simply not acceptable to serve coffee that has been kept warm in a flask, or on a warmer. It was horrible and really put a downer on the breakfast for me, which was a shame as the rest of breakfast was nice. As most hotels in your budget now offer coffee machines at breakfast, your breakfast really suffers because of this.
Great room in terms of comfort, stunning in terms of view. And beautifully presented.
We also had food there, which was good pub grub, and plentiful.
The service was great, a young team but well trained and very friendly, a credit to the hotel.
Windows over look busy road, but we didn't really hear it.
The corridor leading to our room was full of cooking smells, I suspect directly above the bar/dinning room and kitchen, but our room was ok, no smells.
The location is great and the staff were lovely. The room was big for a single and so was the bathroom. I had thought I might hear noise from the bar, but that was not a problem.
There was a loose pane in the window that rattled a lot during the night due to the wind, which woke me, and the pillows were very hard!
Great location and view from my room
The heating made a noise all night
