I celebrated my 60th birthday with about 50 more individuals which included family, friends, and colleagues. We enjoyed our dinner in the Smithfield Station Restaurant. The service and food was outstanding. I am looking forward to coming back. Customer service was outstanding!!!

We loved the Smithfield area and the Smithfield Station overall was very unique. The staff were very friendly and the Restaurant food was excellent. The hotel is a quaint historic building and the room had nice updates. Wonderful walk in shower, and very comfortable bed.
The room we were assigned to was very small and had damp smell when we entered. From the photos online we were expecting a much nicer room. For the price we paid for 2 nights, it just was not what we expected.
Location, restaurant onsite, nice area, view.
No elevator so had to lug suitcase upstairs. Bathroom door wouldn't stay open so lots of humidity in bathroom
It was ok, but some items taste old
Some of food was cold and bagels were old
The restaurant was charming, with a beautiful view, drinks and appetizers were delicious!!! Our room was spacious, clean, extremely & comfortable. We took time to relax and to sit on the balcony and enjoy the nighttime view. Even though it was hot, we loved that we could enjoy the fireplace while watching TV, without having to have heat from it. We can not wait to go back again!!
Little pricey at the restaurant however, you get what you pay for and it was delicious.
The hotel is in an excellent location. There are several museums and wineries close by. We visit Smithfield once or twice a year. Our nephew lives about 10 minutes away. The hotel is very clean and the bed is comfortable. The pool is an added plus in the Summer. The small breakfast buffet is included in the rate. It is only Monday-Saturday. There is a Sunday brunch which is not included. We have not tried the restaurant, but we have heard good things about it.
Great location and very good hotel. We stayed at a cottage (the Fly Fishing room) and we had a great view of the marina and the marshes beyond. The room was clean, well decorated, and roomy. The only drawback to the location is if a large pleasure boat docks in front of the room and blocks your view. This did not happen except on the day we were leaving. Two chairs were available to sit on the porch and enjoy the view. The room could use a microwave.
Took my wife there for her Birthday! We had a wonderful time! We stayed above the restaurant and the room and scenery were great! the pool was awesome too!
The staff was great and welcoming. The food was good and the bar staff each day were friendly.
We will definitely be going back soon.
Outdated to say the least. Safety, cameras non noted. Stairwell doors don't close. Damp room from carpet to bedding. Dumped humidifier 2x a day.
Had to pay $30 more dollars for late check out.
Boaters, fisherman paradise.
Good luck with stay.
Location, service & Dining
I didn't like having to carry my luggage up stairs while checking in.
I enjoy my stay. The room & the view was beautiful. It was very peaceful and quiet. I would have gave it more stars but I honestly think that there is a few things that can be worked on in the rooms for safety reasons. But overall I would definitely come back again or recommend this hotel for people.
Well I didnt quite enjoy the bathroom area. The bathroom was beautiful of course. But the bathroom could use more safety features like guard rails around the toilet and tub area. I think all of bathrooms need it. Besides the handicapped rooms. Because I fell very hard on the tile floor this morning and injured my right leg. & I had nothing to grab on to and had to crawl my way to the edge of the tub and chair stool to help me up. my husband tired telling the front desk at check out but there was nobody there at the time to make the suggestion to.
This place is gorgeous, on the water, a walkable town down the street.
Struggled to get in close to check in time as rooms were still being cleaned.
The breakfast was good. Multiple choices of eggs, meat, waffles, toast, etc. Good coffee and juice. The location was excellent. Walkable to everything.
We had an issue with the remote and the TV not working correctly in the evening, and there was no one to help with it, just one girl at the reception desk. So they did give us new batteries and we were able to fix it ourselves. Check in was a little confusing with extra tax charges.
We enjoyed staying at the Smithfield Station. What a special and beautiful hotel! We loved the peaceful, waterfront views of the marina and enjoyed the delicious continental breakfast every morning.
Nothing at all.
We have stayed here several times before and we really enjoyed our previous stays.
The room, 3001 I think, has really bad atmosphere. Maybe mold, mildew, or animal dander. I am allergic to all of the above. Please close this room before someone else gets allergic
We have stayed here every year for our anniversary and have never had an issue until this visit. We were charged $265 for allegedly smoking in our room, despite the fact that we did not smoke in the room.
Management stated they had "evidence," but simply having evidence they believe supports their conclusion does not prove that we physically smoked in the room. It's similar to assuming someone smoked in a room simply because a pack of cigarettes was left behind. We completely disagree with the charge and feel it was unfairly assessed.
To make matters worse, the situation was handled poorly. Since Margie took over management, the customer service has noticeably declined. Rather than listening to our concerns or working toward a reasonable resolution, the experience felt unnecessarily difficult and dismissive.
It's disappointing because this has always been our go-to place to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately, after this experience and the way it was handled, we'll have to reconsider returning.
Perfect weekend getaway. Relaxing, good food, lovely room with lovely water views. Close to town and pretty park right across the street
Smithfield Station was a lovely place to stay. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was so kind and helpful. Will definitely be back.
