Good service! Tonya at the front desk is very courteous and accommodating to any requests. My husband got a back injury shortly before we arrived and she made sure that he had everything he needed to be comfortable the entire time.

Is it customary in New Zealand to pay for add-ons in advance? We opted for the Continental breakfast at $15 NZD per person and assumed it'd be added to our bill and that we'd pay at check-out, as is always the case in every hotel we've stayed. However, a lady at the front desk questioned me repeatedly about the number of breakfasts I'd had and didn't seem to believe me when I told her. Since my husband's back was out, I would go down and make up a breakfast tray for two and serve him in the room. Again, she questioned me every time and asked if I was ready to pay. I said "no, I'll pay everything at check-out since we're here a few more days and will have breakfast again." She seemed displeased but agreed to give me the breakfast on "credit". If payment in advance is the policy, just let me know and not make me feel like a thief.
I really wanted to give this Hotel a positive review, but their awful customer service really lets them down. Based on the good reviews we booked this hotel for a 1 night stay, although rather dated and certainly 3 star, it was clean and comfortable. But oh my goodness, just as we were just about to head down to reception to check out at 10am there was a forceful knock at the door, “housekeeping, its 10am you need to check out now. That’s fine, no problem, just doing a final check (we’d got the clear hint earlier when she was vacuuming the hall at 9:00am and deliberately banging the vacuum against our room door to ensure we were up already). Next minute at 10:02am the room phone rings, “Hello, have you checked out already its 10am? “, Its 10:02am I replied, how can we have checked out already if I am talking on the room phone to you? We are on our way down. Never, in hundreds of hotels, across the world, have we been treated in such a way, its 10am precisely, your time’s up, now get out of our hotel. As a middle-aged couple, we are not accustomed to being treated as irresponsible guests, we left feeling completely unwelcome. Needless to say we will never be staying here again, a nice location for the price but the rudest most inhospitable staff, I have ever encountered (especially the indignant housekeeping staff). No customer service or even common manners. How disappointing.
Great location near fitness center, grocery store and restaurants. The staff were wonderful. Air conditioner kept the nice cold. It was nice to have a small fridge and tea kettle in the room. Also it was convenient to have parking downstairs. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I recommend this hotel.

It was quite noisy with people playing music, walking and talking in the hallways, and I could hear a couple doing the hanky panky, which was great. It's a bit old and outdated. No safety on the windows if you have small children on higher levels. Some staining on bedding & I did choose to sanitize the high touch areas like door handles, light switches, etc as I am unsure of their cleaning service. Let me give $200 cash deposit however looking back, they should have given me a receipt or something for that. I did get it back but maybe that's something they can implement with cash deposits.
