Location - only a couple of minutes to the Istanbul Old city highlights;
Centrally positioned yet quiet street with lots of character;
Nice, cozy living arrangement with an interesting view over the layers of the city beneath, and the stunning sea backdrop;
Friendly, supportive, nice staff members. Minhaj would absolutely get out of his way providing us with advice, recommendations and support during our stay - and well beyond - making sure our needs were met. Outstanding service 😊

Awful experience, would not book again. I booked for 8 nights and only stayed half the days because it was that bad. They changed my room, gave me the room right where the kitchen is, the bathroom was faulty, the breakfast was ridiculous - it's not a buffet, it's cold food they make in advance just sitting around on plates, it was not clean, the staff were not trained as most were young. Despite the staff knowing all these issues and me reporting to Booking.com, the offered no refund or compensation. No shame or decorum at all.

Pros:

I was there for 5 days with my family. The family room is comfortable with an amazing sea view. Same for the breakfast hall. The two receptionists Minhaj & Suna are very kind and helpful. They made sure our stay was safe & gave amazing tips to help us get around the area. Arranged transport to/from the airport and any other places we wanted to visit. Would totally recommend Sur Hotel!

Pleasant stay in a small hotel with friendly staff and a great location near the Blue Mosque.
Pros:

The hotel has a great location near the Blue Mosque and Sultanahmet Square, the staff were very friendly, and the price–quality ratio was really good. Overall, a place I would recommend for a short stay in Istanbul.

Cons:

The room was quite small and a bit noisy, and breakfast was rather simple.
