Top Frühstück, Heidi Chefin des Hauses
Der Highway ist sehr laut, die Unterkunft liegt in der direkten Nähe.
Heidi was the most wonderful and friendly host.
Lovely breakfast
Beautiful gardens
The location and breakfast provided were both excellent, Heidi is a very good host.
Nothing, all good
Stunning gorgeous gracious historical property.
Setback from a main road
Bright clean inviting
Wine selection fell short. Was expecting more variety
Great property, great location, great hosts. Perfect
Beautiful elegant property with great attention to detail, situated in the countryside just outside Blenheim off the main road south. An old gracious villa, with a lovely garden and trees, a verandah to sit out and enjoy the ambiance, and interiors tastefully decorated with antique styles. Operates in the style of a lodge with public areas to enjoy. A very restful choice if you are happy to relax with a book rather than a TV, or want to range out each day exploring the surrounding wine district. Absolutely delicious breakfast with special homemade touches, served around the table in the elegant dining room. Room was very comfortable with a large bathroom and thoughtful additions. Our hostess Heidi was charming and helpful - one of those special people who exude warmth and caring hospitality. She has put a huge amount of thought and effort into creating this haven. An absolutely lovely stay, we were very sorry to leave.
We loved our stay at The Peppertree. Heidi and Werner were the perfect hosts.
Our room was nice with a large bathroom and comfortable bed. Extras such as turn-down chocolates were appreciated.
Breakfast was fantastic and largely homemade. We enjoyed chatting to the other guests and Heidi creates a lovely atmosphere where everyone feels like family!
Wonderful breakfast prepared fresh with a huge range of wonderful produce from the property

This was the most disappointing experience of our trip so far in New Zealand. Because we had paid a lot of money for the room and it was advertised as ‘luxury 5 star accommodation’ we were expecting the luxury that was promised. Unfortunately the bed in the faded bedroom was old and uncomfortable and the shower in the faded bathroom had no pressure and no hot water. We spoke to Heidi the host about our concerns but all she could do was apologise and offer us a bottle of wine. When we explained that we didn’t drink she offered us a cup of tea. She seemed concerned and knew that we were unhappy but wasn’t prepared to do anything about it. Other reviews suggest that people were happy with this accommodation but if they’re travelling with a tour company perhaps they don’t realise how much they are paying for the room or perhaps the rooms vary in quality. I saw one room which was definitely more luxurious than ours. All our accommodation in New Zealand has been better than this and have cost substantially less. The Pepper Tree either needs to upgrade their out dated rooms or reduce the cost of those not up to standard. The Pepper Tree states that it is rated five star by Qualmark but we have been unable to find it registered on The Qualmark website.
Very personal service Just can find a fault This was a perfect stay Heidy was fantastic
nothing
Heidi and Werner were excellent hosts. The Breakfast was delicious and the surroundings were delightful.
We had a lovely few days at Peppertree, Heidi is the perfect host. The property is a beautiful heritage building with lovely gardens. Breakfast was very good pretty much all sourced locally or made by Heidi. We stayed with our daughters and visited the wineries close by. Easy to get taxi’s and services.
Lovely old building and Heidi s a fantastic host who made us really welcome. Room was big and very clean
The rooms and bathrooms are rather dated and not as “luxurious” as might be expected given the prices
Heidi our host was extremely warm and welcoming. Her house is beautiful and breakfast was good. The reason for my 3/5 score is for the bedroom and bathroom. Both rooms were spacious and clean but somewhat dated. This is one of the most expensive lodges we booked and were expecting the ‘luxury’ it advertised. I feel for the quality of the bedroom and bathroom, it is overpriced.
Very friendly owner. Beautiful property with vines in front, fruits trees and garden behind. Lovely historical house. Breakfast was excellent. Very charming place to stay.
