A rather tired venue overall, adequate but with issues.
Pros:

room was clean, bed was comfortable plenty of parking spaces. Hotel block was separate from the bar, so no bar noise.

Cons:

The room - indeed the whole corridor - had a very peculiar strong smell, I don't know if it was a cleaning product or some more serious problem. I managed to clear it partly by leaving the bathroom fan on all day. The shower dripped because the water could not be turned off completely, causing a continuous flow which must have wasted lots of water - I advised housekeeping. The door had a simple mechanical Yale lock, I expect better security in a modern ground floor room. There was no additional door chain. On the Saturday night I was kept awake by the occupant in the room above moving about until 2am - hardly the hotel's fault, but it did highlight the fact that the building was not as soundproof as perhaps modern construction would provide. The free wifi kept dropping me and asked me continually if I was staying for a whole collection of trivial and inappropriate reasons. You cannot contact the hotel directly, everything leads you to a Greene King central AI phone which seems to be retarded.

Good, frequently use this Hotel as convenient for us.
Pros:

Excellent

Cons:

Wedding party guests were very noisy on the Saturday night until 2am . Not able to get much sleep that night, , Sunday evening fire alarm went off, no one informed us if it was real or a false alarm. More information needed. It was about 8.30 pm so staff should have been present.

Nice and comfy for a family mini break
Pros:

The room was big, bright, and well furnished. It was perfect to accommodate 2 adults and 1 toddler. The menu had a huge selection of various options for both breakfast and the main meals, and it even had a kids section, so our toddler could eat our same meals, just in smaller version.

Cons:

The temperature in our room could have been a bit lower, as we struggled sleeping, even without blankets.

Friendly, comfortable, welcoming and terrific value.
Pros:

Comfortable, friendly and terrific value. Great location and free parking. It's not fancy, design-led or "boutique" but they do all the important things well, with a friendly welcome and considerate staff.

Cons:

There's nothing I disliked.

Just outside Reading, this is a great hotel.
Pros:

My room was considerably bigger than advertised and having a restaurant / bar adjacent is a plus with easy parking and petrol station and shop next door.

Comfy bed, convenient location but could do with a refresh
Pros:

Breakfast was ok but some aspects disappointing- quality of sausage questionable and seemed to have been reheated. Staff were friendly. Bedroom good size. I didn’t pay a fortune so my expectations were not really high

Cons:

Building is a bit tired, run down and dated. The hotel part was a bit of a 1980’s time warp. Exterior could do with a refresh . Just some sweeping and cutting back the Ivy and re-gravelling outside would improve the aesthetic. That said is was convenient for what I wanted, bed was clean and comfortable .

Exactly what we were looking for . It was well priced , clean and tidy.
Pros:

It is exceptional value for money and also very clean. The beds are comfortable. It is ideal for us as visiting nearby family.

Cons:

The bathroom was clean but could really do with some updating.

Slow breakfast
Cons:

Breakfast starts at 7 so it leaves working people in a rush, especially when service is especially slow.
It shouldn't take 15 mins to produce a plate of bacon egg and beans on restaurant with five customers.
