Apartments Mia

Simple but clean room with air-conditioning. Very quiet. Super convenient - 5 minutes walk max from the city gates, 5 min to the beach, less than 5 min to a chill restaurant and pub and an escape from the crowds. 5 min walk to the bus stop to take you up to the main bus station/port. I very much appreciated being so close. Dino, our host was an absolute gem - great stories, very helpful, great communication.

Owner is kind and helped us with all the information necessary to enjoy the city, location is the best, near everything.. good to explore old city or for the tours pick up.. close to restaurants and best gelato

Small room. Nice location - super close to a really nice beach just outside of old town, and the fort which is a GOT filming location. Good for solo, crowded for couples. WiFi connection was so very difficult. Had to look for signal outside of the room. I am appreciative however that owner let us check in early
And he is friendly. Good enough accommodation for 1-2 nights, campy after that and WiFi is a huge issue as I do need WiFi when travelling for my work etc. overall, because it was priced a little expensive, value for money is below average for the service/value that you get

Good location dreadful room. Owner was friendly but we felt uncomfortable. We locked our bags when we went out. We had the lower room that was old and musty. Rickety spiral staircase up to bedroom was dangerous. Air con didn’t work and when we asked owner he said that because it was the end of the season it would be set centrally to heat only,sweltering! Guests in another room said that their air con was too cold, so go figure…
We had to have the windows open to cool down so people walking up and down the stairs were heard all night. Sheets did not cover our legs, so possibly single sheets put sideways.
Very poor sleep.
This was not what was advertised and paid for.
Definitely not 3 stars, more like 1 star in a crappy hostel

The owner overbooked the apartment we reserved and then wanted us to stay in three different units for the four nights we reserved. We didn’t find out about the overbooking until we arrived to check in. The owner should have messaged us about his mistake as soon as he discovered it.

The owner said we could cancel our reservation, stay the four nights, or only stay the first night of our reservation. We were able to make other reservations in a much nicer apartment after the first night. We are so happy we didn’t stay at Apartment Mia for more than one night. The bathroom wall and ceiling had visible mold and the patio area when we checked in smelled from the owner’s cigarette smoke.

It took several hours during our vacation to find other accommodations and handle the refund through Expedia.

Great location, no parking at all, the owner directed us to the public paid parking, (about $23 for 24 hours), half an hour walk from the apartment.

Great location close to old town and supermarkets for supplies. Fort with nice views is above..taxi and bus close by..dino is helpful. Small rocky beach close by. Good selection of food places close by. Not luxurious but good

Extremely rude, unprofessional, and frightening.

Think the episode of The Office where Jim and Pam stay at Schrutè farms, except this isn't an american sitcom and it was actually scary.

We had a friend with us (who was not staying at the property). The owner was extremely rude to our friend and kept pestering us thinking he was going to stay without permission.

We told him our friend was not staying the night, he was just hanging out as it was only 9pm... he barged INTO our room without permission in his (revealing) whitey tighties and a burning cigarette in his hand. I am not sure if he was dr*nk, but I honestly hope so to give some sort of explanation for the behavior.


Every time we arrived back to the place, they ran to the door to harass us and question us? It felt like we were 15 again and had parents watching our every move.

The landlords wife?mom?sister? unsure ... yelled at me as I came into the place asking who I was and why I was there. I told her I was literally a paying guest.


annnnd to top it off, my husband was on a zoom call for work and the landlord started talking to him during his call and walked in front of the camera, once again, in his Whitey tighties.

Round of applause for the plot - it truly gave us lifelong memories.

We booked a double room en-suite through hotels.com, but the pictures accompanying the booking turned out to be pictures of an apartment en-suite.

It meant our room was much too small for us and not what we had expected at all.

Hotels.com contacted the owner who said he would help us find another room, but when we spoke to him, he told us there was nothing he could do as it was fully booked out and the only alternative would be to stay with him in his house!

It was a very uncomfortable experience and, although I think we were just unlucky, I would not recommend this accommodation.

The owner did kindly offer to change our sheets and to let us leave luggage in the property on our departure day.

The property itself was a double bed tightly squeezed between a painted rock wall and a regular wall. The paint on the rock wall would rub off on our belongings that touched it. The furnishing were cheap and old, but it was clean at least.

The bathroom was very small with a flimsy shower curtain and it was very difficult to keep water off the floor. There were no space in the bathroom for toiletries and no lid on the toilet.

The access to the room is tricky as it it is accessed by a very narrow and steep stair case.

The location of the property was very good, situated between two beaches and right next to a nice cafe and restaurant outside the old town. It meant the surrounding area was peaceful and relaxing with easy access to the busy parts of the old town.

The location of the flat is brilliant, everywhere in the old town is walkable. The flat is also clean and comfortable with working AC, which was a lifesaver.
Parking was not on site, you would have to walk a little bit.
Kitchen was moderately well equipped but did not have Coffee maker as stated.
Overall because of the location everything else was not a big issue.

The hosts, Dino and his mother, were wonderful.

Although the people running this apartment are incredibly nice; I have to give everyone a heads up of our experience. The pictures looked great and we booked because there were three of us and we thought it would be easy to stay in one apartment with 2 rooms... well when we arrived, there was not a front desk (as stated), I called the man I was speaking regarding our arrival and he told me to knock on his mom's apartment and she will let us into our place. The woman was very nice but spoke no english and was very fragile. She showed us into the apartment and it was nothing like pictured. There were not two rooms, there were 2 beds in one room. Everything was pretty dirty; the towels were crunchy and had stains. There was a back door that led to a washer machine and other apartments that did not lock, so nothing was secure during our stay. We ended up locking most of belongings in the car. Although the location of this place is amazing and is right in the heart of the city, there is not parking nearby. The closest parking is pretty far and it costs $10 eur per hour. Overall, we didn't spend much time in the room so it was fine, but I definitely felt like there is room for improvement.

Loved the location! Very close to beautiful views and old town. Staff was also very accommodating and quick to respond to needs. Water in shower had good pressure and was hot but they need to unclog the shower drain. It pooled up after just a few minutes. They also list a soaker tub which we did not have. Maybe one of the other apartments has one? Overall cleanliness was not up to our standards. Slept in a sleep sack because sheets seemed unwashed. Towels were rough and mismatched. Also didn't seem very clean. No bathroom products provided like shampoo or soap. The dish sponge had been there a while. We were told to open windows if we got hot so dealt with bugs and mosquitos biting us. This situation would have been fine had it only been my husband and I back in our young days of broke backpacking but with our 2 kids, it just wasn't worth it.

Amazing location and reasonable price. Dino was very welcoming, he took the time to explain the best places to go to get the most out of our trip. He also let us store our bags after check-out so we could explore some more before he’s to the airport for our flight. Thank you!

This property is a perfect location to walk to Old Town Dubrovnik in 5 minutes. The view is superlative, and Dino and his Daughter Mia were wonderful hosts and responded to all our needs, even when we had to leave at 4:30 AM to catch a plane. The unit was clean and neat. I would highly recommend staying at Apartments Mia if you want easy access to Old Town.

The location is amazing and the apartment was great value for money. The instructions on how to arrive and what to do at arrival could have been better. It's not a hotel, so it doesn't have a reception and no one was waiting for us at the property, so we had to call around to get someone to take us to the correct property. It would have helped to have had clearer information about this at reservation, so we would have known to call ahead and who to call.

I have to confess that I am very late writing this review. I travelled in May 2019 and not May 2020 as I have incorrectly indicated. I apologise to everyone, particularly the host Dino, for my tardiness in this respect.
You couldn't find a better location for Dubrovnik City. It overlooks a small but beautiful bay (featured in Game of Thrones - whatever that is?) and faces a dramatic looking castle at the end of a warren of quiet, narrow streets, that is less than a 5 minute walk from the Pile Gate, ie the main entrance to the old city.
This is further topped by the most helpful and informative host, Dino, who walked down with me to watch Liverpool's great Champion's League semi final win against Barcelona in the nearby Kop Bar - another place that should be visited. During our stay Dino's mother was also visiting and she kindly baked delicious pastries for us, which we were able to eat on the terrace. Finally, the room was well equipped and comfortable. In short, the whole experience was extremely enjoyable

The location was great! Very close to the old town. However, you definitely need a GPS to find the place and even then, it's hard to figure out. We had the small studio, which would have been fine if the A/C had been working. Even though we told the owner multiple times that it wasn't working, he said he had gotten it fixed. It was indeed pushing air out, but it wasn't cold at all. That room was a sauna! So hot and humid, it smelled awful. And after showering, the bathroom would get packed with mosquitos. I wish the owner would have provided us with a fan or gotten it fixed for real instead of treating us like idiots by lying to us. It wasn't super clean either. Also, on the website it said that we could get a shuttle from the airport but he told us he couldn't do it so we had to spend more money on transportation than planned.

So I picked this place randomly when I decided to visit Dubrovnik recently. I not only enjoyed these apartments, but actually had the opportunity to view three different ones. The first was rather small - but very cool due t rocks from the hillside making up one of the walls. Unfortunately, the temperature was not cool because the A!C in that unit was broken. I was moved to a two bedroom (which I didn’t even realize because I didn’t open an extra door). It had a living room and small kitchenette. I had to move for the last night - and it was to a larger one bedroom which also had a kitchenette and spiral stairs leading up to the bedroom.
In addition to totally meeting my travel needs, the place was spotless. Moreover, the owners, Dino and his daughter Mia were most pleasant to deal with.
Best of all was the location. Literally steps to the Old Town Gate and a few pebbly beaches - one of which has X-Adventures Kayaking - which I also highly recommend.
So yes - stay here if you are one or a small group or family! I would not recommend for mobility impaired as there are a lot of steps both getting to and at the apartment.
One more bit of advice - call Dino upon your arrival by the bus station/gate. It can be difficult to find on your first try due to the small, winding streets.
