Requires major refurbishment. Chose location from ferry travelling north.
Pros:

Warm welcome at reception. Requests met for twin single and fan in room.

Cons:

Towel drying rack on- broken connection- wires exposed. Extremely dangerous if towels were wet. Had to remove sink plug as water almost overflowed- couldn’t empty quickly enough.

Overall nice stay and the location was perfect for our visit
Pros:

The location of the room was perfect, so easy to carry luggage to the room and back to the car. The staff were as always polite and super friendly and helpful. The room was clean enough

Cons:

As much as i like the hotel, it is getting dated now. the shower was far too hot even when on the coolest setting. during our visit, the temperature in Portsmouth was very hot, not the hotels fault but some additional fans for the room would have been appreciated, was like an oven

You get what you pay for. Clean but very old and tired!
Pros:

The location was good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean.

Cons:

The room was extremely old and tired, some parts falling apart, for example the taps!

There was also an old musty smell.

Cheap Hotel does exactly what it says on the tin - but don't write it off. It's value for money
Pros:

The staff here are brilliant and would help you with anything.
The lady in the restaurant at breakfast worked like an absolute trojan. She was taking the orders for the cooked breakfast and ran around cleaning tables, topping up the coffee and fruit juices.
I couldn't say thanks to them enough
If you're worried about it being attached to the pub and being noisy be assured it's not. The rooms are away from the bar

Cons:

The rooms are not air conditioned but there were fans supplied
Our room was north facing and had trees outside the window so not as hot as it could have been.

The hotel itself (and the pub) is quite tired and could do with a good lick of paint all round.

A tired establishment that needs plenty of invrestment.
Pros:

The room was spacious and the bed comfortable.
The room facilities were satisfactory.
The food was satisfactory.

Cons:

The whole building has a very tired appearance.
While the bathroom was clean there was signs that various fixtures were in need of attention.
We were given an accessible room, however I was very surprised to find that the shower was over a bath and not a walk in one.
There was no air con in the rooms, though there was an oscillating desk top fan which helped to give some form of air movement during one of the warmest nights of then year.
