Hotel Sercotel Maya Alicante

Great value hotel with spacious clean rooms and a very decent breakfast with much to choose from. Special mention to the female receptionist who checked us out on Saturday 24 January. She processed our refund and corrected our bill under immense pressure being the only member of staff on the desk at the busiest time of morning between 10:00am and 11:00. There was a couple in front of me that took at least half an hour to process and a massive queue built of people wanting to check out. She handled the pressure so well and is an excellent asset to this hotel. I’m just sorry I can’t remember her name but I think it starts with an N.

I had an amazing time in Sercotel Maya Alicante. The location was great and so close to many attractions without issue, on the doorstep of the Tram.
The staff at reception couldn’t have been more helpful and were so pleasant going over and above! There wasn’t anything that was too much of an ask.
I will definitely be back!

Great hotel. About 20 minute walk to the old town, but a beautiful walk along the esplanade. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants on the way. Perfect location for us. Clean comfortable rooms, room service available, bar really good. We did room only, so many places to eat in the area

The location is nice,far from center and beach,food acceptable,not wow, i got first towel dirty! In one room from ventilation ,we got food smell! At breakfast food was good! Staff was professional, but sometimes disturbed when we asked something! Not a place that I want to return!

Thoroughly enjoyed a 1 week stay here in early October. This 3 star Hotel is better than many supposed 4 stars We have stayed in. Its in an ideal location for walking to the beach or visiting the quaint "Old Town". Also close to bus stops and Tram station for venturing further afield. The Hotel offers a decent size pool and sun bathing area along with ample sunbeds. Breakfast was first class with a large variety of good quality food. Staff were helpful and friendly and we would most definitely recommend this Hotel to explore the many delights of Alicante. A special mention to Juan C Morales on reception who was very helpful with our Room requests. ( Room 607 with views of the sea and the Castle of Santa Barbera. We will return !

The reception service was extremely poor. The staff appeared unfriendly and unwelcoming, which created a negative first impression. This didn't improve. The property was reasonably clean, but unfortunately, the air conditioning in the room was not functioning.

Stayed for a week in this lovely hotel, room and bathroom were very comfortable and spotless.
Breakfast was very good, fresh orange juice, lovely fruit and excellent coffee.
Beautiful pool but only negative of our stay was that it was very cold. Pool service was excellent.
We ate out a number of nights but had both lunch and dinner a few times in the hotel,which was excellent, the food far exceeded out expectations as did the service.
Would definitely go back again and would dine more often in the hotel as the food was excellent.

Me and my husband came for a 4 night stay , price was really decent. I emailed before we came to ask for a high floor room which reply was we will try but when we got there the reception guy said we would need to pay extra ! Reception was a little bit frosty . Room was really comfortable and very clean . Staff in restaurant and bar were really nice , and bar prices were excellent. Breakfast was good all hot and plenty of choice . Pool area good even though we couldn’t make use of it because of torrential rain . 5 or 6 mins to beach 20 mins to centre . Alicante is soo good everything for everybody , we would definitely stay here again and we met lovely people , totally recommend

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here.
Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Something for everyone.

Bar food and drink prices were reasonable. Food portions were huge! The menu needs better descriptions of what to expect - it's not clear what comes with fries etc.

The whole hotel was very clean. Check in was fine but more information could have been given at check in (or in the room) about the hotel and the area.
(Small tip - please don't announce the room number of female travellers as everyone behind me could hear)

I was there during the weather warning and the forecasted heavy rain - this meant lots of guests staying in and around the hotel. The bar staff were very rushed and short-staffed. It's a pity the hotel hadn't brought in support and planned for this. The breakfast and bar staff were excellent though - always very helpful and friendly!

I had read reviews about poor noise insultation between rooms and I had no problems for 5 of my 6 nights. Unfortunately, an inconsiderate man moved into the room next door on my last night and he was extremely loud. When I asked him to reduce the noise level, he and his female guest (I believe she had another room in the hotel) laughed and got louder and louder. Not the fault of the hotel though. I didn't report it to them as I was leaving the next day. Hopefully no-one else has their stay spoiled by this rude man.

Very convenient for tram & bus. Helpful staff. Had to ask for coffee / tea / milk and kettle.

Nice staff, excellent location for metro, rooms a little dated but fine, breakfast has good variety for all the family!

Downside: the handling of the loss of an expensive personal item was truly unacceptable. While we understand that mistakes can happen, we expected the reception staff to adopt a professional and empathetic approach, aimed at finding a solution or at least reassuring the guest, given their responsibility in this matter. Instead, their attitude came across as dismissive and almost mocking, which only increased our discomfort and left a very negative impression of our stay. This unfortunate episode has significantly compromised our overall evaluation of the hotel: despite submitting a written complaint and sending a follow-up email, I have still not received any reply. This complete lack of communication and accountability has been extremely disappointing, and for this reason alone I would not feel comfortable recommending this property.

That said, the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel matches the photos and description. It can be reached by bus plus a short walk and, while it may initially seem far from the center, it actually allows for a pleasant 15-minute walk to the livelier areas. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, ensuring a good night’s sleep.

Our renovated room was clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, though the balcony felt a little neglected. The breakfast buffet was average, offering both sweet and savory options as well as gluten-free products. We did not use the pool or gym facilities.

Pet friendly, good parking, close to beach and restaurants. Hotel and particularly the rooms/bathrooms are too dated to award 4 or 5 stars however staff are great and so is location

Good hotel, very helpful staff, the hotel was clean and was in a great location.
15 min walk to the beach and a 20 min walk to the old town and harbour front.
Rooms could do with some sound proofing but appreciate it's an older building.
Bed was super comfy.
Although there was a lot of choice for breakfast, the quality of the food on offer could have been better but like all things you get what you pay for. We had breakfast out on our second day.
All in all, a good place to stay, amazing views if you are on a higher floor.
