Hotel Comillas

Average hotel which sometimes can meet your needs perfectly. In my case, I didn't even plan to stay in Comillas. However, my feet started bleeding after the fourth day of trail running. I needed some respite altogether with some others from our group. So we stopped in Comillas for a couple of days. I was happy the rooms were equipped with baths instead of shower cabins. That enabled me to partially heel the wounds, put on some tapes and darn tough with 1 size oversize boots and continue the running later to Pendueles. However the hotel other than its price did not really stun. Everything was average. The breakfast, too.

Excelente atención, todo el personal súper agradables. Se ve que se esmeran en tener las instalaciones lo mejor posible. Cuidado y limpio. Desayuno muy rico.

The hotel is well located close to Sobrellano Palace and there is good free parking. All the rooms are on the ground floor and our room was dark and gloomy with grey walls and no pictures. For privacy we had to keep the shutters closed and the room felt very claustrophobic. Not a place to linger! It was a warm night and the a/c was only set as a heater with a minimum temperature of 24 degrees so we had to keep the window open. Not a place to stay next time.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days and enjoyed it very much. The town is very pretty. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options including fresh fruit. Best of all are the sraff who were all genuinely kind and helpful. Reception, waiters and even the cleaners greeted us as we went past and the friendly culture seemed to pervade the hotel as all the other customers said "Buenas Dias" on passing!

A very pleasant surprise. Lots to see for a one night stay. Perfect location.

We stayed for one night while walking the Camino Norte.
This a modern hotel. The room was good, if a somewhat low key decor. Breakfast was good.
For us, this was good, in a modern city hotel way, but lacked the wow factor.

The hotel we were supposed to stay in accidentally overbooked, so they sent us to this place for 1 night. This hotel charged the 1st hotel 215 Euros for a room that was basic, to say the least. It was small, ugly, poorly furnished with random items, and on the ground floor w/ no view and hearing range of drunken singing into the night. The rest of the hotel was quite unimpressive - not sure how got a 4-star classification. There were no parking spaces when we returned from having dinner, and the person at the front desk shrugged and told us to park in the street. Also, Comillas has very little to recommend it.

Las fotos de la web no le hacen justicia, habitación recién reformada. El personal muy amable, sobre todo uno de los camareros, que nos explicó la elaboración de cada uno de los platos del restaurante perfectamente. La comida muy buena, de gran calidad. Las medidas Covid muy bien, me encantó la forma de servir el desayuno buffet. L ubicación muy buena, parece que está lejos del centro pero se tarda menos de 3 minutos en llegar. Sin duda volveré

Nos gustó todo en general. La ubicación es muy buena, los jardines y terraza muy agradables.
La habitación funcional, el baño reformado y funcional.

Personal y trato excepcional

Hotel had friendly and helpful reception staff. Strangely the coffee shop and reception were one counter, which made for not brilliant service. Rooms were ok, but old fashioned could have done with a modern update. The breakfast was delicious and choice excellent but the room was devoid of character. There were no charming areas to sit and have a coffee. A functional hotel.

Recepcionista eficiente y amable. Habitación y baño amplios. Camas cómodas. Alguna solicitud que hicimos fue rápidamente resuelta. El desayuno buffet de 8 euros nos pareció económico, muy buena atención y surtido. Definitivamente regresaríamos a este hotel.

El hotel está bien situado: desayuno muy bueno. A las habitaciones les hace falta una remodelación, sobre todo a los baños. El personal absolutamente encantador.

Only a one night stay but warmly welcomed and our room was spacious, clean and well presented. Quiet and on the ground floor so rolling cases up the ramps to the lobby and room very easy.

Buffet breakfast with gorgeous fresh squeezed orange juice, usual selection of meats, fruit, veg, fresh bread and cakes and also we were offered eggs and bacon if we wanted an English start to the day. Only a five minute walk through the park to the centre of this very attractive town.

Es un hotel muy bien localizado y el personal muy servicial.

Excelente hotel. Sus habitaciones son amplias, limpias y guapas. Fuimos por 1 día y estuvimos 2 días. Y el pueblo es una belleza, me quede con ganas de más días pero nuestro viaje continuaba. Pero seguro volveré al pueblo y al hotel

We stayed here for two nights and were not disappointed.Large open parking. 😀 The room was a great size,, clean and comfortable. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was a satisfactory buffet with fresh cooked eggs etc. should you choose. Wi fi was non existent in our room but we took to walking to the bar area to use it, which was fine. As our visit was at the end of May, the pool was an unsightly and uninviting green ! Overall we felt that a big injection of passion could make this a super place to stay. Everything just felt a bit lacklustre.
The location of Hotel Comillas is great. Pretty beach within easy walking distance. Decent places to eat. We enjoyed Quo Vadis, the Italian. The Gaudi house is amazing and very close to hotel.

It was friendly and well run. The rooms were clean and everything was fine for our stay.
