The hotel is really old and not really well maintained. The alley smells like cigarettes and feel bit spooky. Also it’s really loud, you can hear the traffic as the windows is not soundproof.

The proximity to the train station. The politeness of the staff.
On our trip from Malang to Ketapang we booked this stopover hotel in order to freshen up and to store our luggage while dining somewhere in Surabaya.
I knew from the price that it would not be a spectacular hotel but it was ok to have something near the train station.
The room was clean as it gets but the amenities of course were not meeting any standards at all. It is sad that a hotel in such a premium location is not being maintained in a way it suits international travellers.
Given upgraded room even with very competitive rate. Very happy and satisfied with stay. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Location ideal next to gubeng, however for walking access from station to hotel need to use Google maps to find crossing over rail line, as there seems to be no direct pedestrian exit from station to the western side.

they claim theres hot water, when i complained they came to check and defended the water is hot enough when its just less than lukewarm. room is dusty i had allergy reactions. theres no bellhop to bring luggages so i had a hard time
Close to train station, room is fairly well furnished and lobby area is nice. Decent view from upper floors.
WiFi didn't stretch to my room which is pretty poor. My sink also leaked which was audible from the bedroom and left the bathroom floor slippery. Also isn't much to do in the surrounding area.
Nice hotel with very friendly staff behind reception. The room was good and bathroom was clean. The restaurant in the hotel was very convenient for me and the food was great.
I had huge problems with the internet. It did not work properly. For my traveling I am relying on good internet and this is a must in a hotel for me. I had to sit in the middle of the night in the hallway to have somewhat of a connection.

Is very near to surabaya gubeng train station. The submarine museum is a short walk away.
Need to wait for hot water before bathing. A bit noisy from the busy street infront.
