The staff was super friendly and helpful. Bryan on evenings and the young lady on Thursday morning were the 2 that I interacted with. The young lady arranged to switch our rooms to the 1st floor after rooms became available but we were too tired to move our belongings when we returned that night.
The location was great.
The bed was fairly comfortable.
The breakfast area and sitting area were very nice.
The front sliding doors were super slow and wouldn't hardly open.
The elevators didn't work the whole time that we were there and we were on the 4th floor!
There was no hot tub because the heat didn't work in it so it was just a "spa" with cold water.
The pool trap by the "spa" didn't have a cover. It was an uncovered hole that is DANGEROUS!
There were no pool towels on the shelves.
The front lawn and side areas had not been mowed or taken care of.
Our bathroom, especially the shower, was very dirty. I went out and bought cleaning supplies so that I could clean it before I used it. The shower caulking is moldy and black in places and the walls had dark, grimy build up. The shower doors have so much build up that they're opaque. The water pressure was so weak in the shower that it was hard to wash my hair. The wallpaper is peeling and was stapled to the wall. The pillows were small and flattened down to nothing when we laid our heads on them.
The little coffee maker was missing the pod basket.
We did NOT receive maid service at any time during our stay. We had to get towels from Bryan at the desk and supplies like toilet paper off of the maids cart in the hallway but she never came to our room. Our trash was never emptied, supplies were never restocked by anyone but us. (We did put DO NOT DISTURB signs on the door twice because we had left valuable belongings in the room.) But the other days nobody came to service our room.
We didn't eat breakfast there at all because we didn't see any fresh food like eggs, bacon, or sausage. For the price that we paid, I expected a lot better accommodations. I called IHG for help but because we weren't made aware of the elevators not working until AFTER we were checked in, the very rude, snotty female on the phone did NOTHING to help us.
I was very disappointed with our stay.
Had to wait at the front desk for a clerk at least 15 minutes.
The room temperature
The bathroom door not latching, the amount of wall and ceiling damage inside and immediately outside the room. The hallways and elevator smelled weird. One of the two elevators was broken. Had to wait a while to get checked by staff who were not at front desk with no notification.
This is not the quality of a typical Hampton hotel and very disappointing. When we arrived we were surprised that the landscape around the hotel was tall grass and weeds and dirt. Our room was on the first floor (123). The carpet in the hallway was wet and had a very bad odor. Our room was dark and the carpet looked dirty and stained. The furniture was old and well used. The light over the bathroom sink was out and the only light was in the shower. The toilet handle did not work. I asked for a new room and was given 222. There was more light, and the carpet appeared cleaner…however the shower so was dirty and moldy to the point we would not use it. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were flimsy. I would never recommend this hotel and we will never stay there again. Others have given a “4” rating…very misleading to fellow travelers. Definitely not worth the price. I have always been a fan of the Hilton brand and I am a Hilton Rewards member.
We booked our reservation in January for two nights on April 24 - 26 to watch a George Strait concert in Lubbock, TX. Hotels were hard to find in the area and prices have skyrocketed everywhere. We finally found this location at a reasonable rate and booked it with no issues back in January. On the day we left for that long drive from Houston to Sweetwater (7+ hours), halfway through the trip we noticed that the hotel sent an email around 10:30 that morning letting us know that they overbooked and had to cancel our reservation. Well this left us high and dry with no place to go. After talking with their front desk person and demanding answers, he helped with finding another hotel in Big Spring, TX at the normal rate. I truly believe that the Hampton Inn Sweetwater sold our room to the highest bidder knowing that they can get much more than what we booked it for. What they did was totally wrong and we will never stay at a Hampton Inn or any of the Hilton properties again! Hilton has lost us as a customer.
Clean rooms
Nice rooms
Pool seems to have a lot of problems
This was very sparse
You could open my door from the outside. The door was so messed up so bad you could see day light trough the sides
Breakfast was OK but did not offer variety similar to Hampton Inn’s I normally stay at. For example- the juice fountain only provided water. While bacon was available - no sausage. Minor details but different.
Rooms were comfortable but our room- 207 experienced problems with the TV reception. The TV was Direct TV with a cable box. The staff was very supportive but were only able to provide temporary fixes. 3 - different times.
Nothing!!!
Horrible!! Waste of money!! Bathroom was so sticky, sticky tv remote, shower made squeaky noise when on. Air conditioning was loud like you’re about to take off in an airplane.
Location.. easy access.
Brian i believe was his name was Awesome..
The Bed OMG was hard and the hotel is old. The smell was not inviting at all
Breakfast cereal was old..
The bed was comfortable. The room was soundproof.
The breakfast was not like what I remember typical Hampton Inn breakfasts were like.
Room was clean and plenty of pillows
There was no soap in the bathroom. I was charged a little more than what I was quoted when I booked the room. Staff couldn’t tell me what the increase was about. Breakfast was not good bagel was old and no OJ. Step up your breakfast items!
