Great location
Was clean, but could have been cleaner, breakfast items were very very low, didn't seem to want to top them up too much, but good all the same
Breakfast was good and receptionist friendly.
No bar, restaurant not open for dinner, shower either scalded or was freezing.
Location was perfect
Needs an upgrade inside ..
Det var ett gammalt och mysigt hotell. Enkelt men väldigt skottiskt.
Siktar man inte på bekvämligheter och modernt hotell var detta hotell bra.
Location and cleanliness
The guy who is in charge doesn’t have any skills for working with people as host.
Curtains are not suitable for summer, the light jump in your bedroom at 4:00 am . I stayed at 27/05/2026.
Sorry, look at “What didn’t like”
If you are looking to acquire house dust mites as new pets and enjoy the patina that dust creates on furniture, then the Loch Ness Lodge Hotel is exactly the right place for you.
This experience is further complemented by burnt pastries in the morning.
It is a great shame for this old hotel, which appears attractive from the outside and would certainly deserve a proper renovation and a little more cleanliness.
On a positive note, the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful.
Génial
Rien
It was like stepping back in time. Im going to say 1979. It would have been sheer luxury back then. Huge room, comfy beds, a million towels and 5 loo rolls.
The restaurant is closed. It padlocked and cobwebby and doesn't look like it will ever reopen. They didn't tell us this until the day of our arrival. We had walked 14.5 miles and past all the restaurants. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.
Ruhige Lage
Zimmergröße bei Buchung 200 Quadratmeter ist natürlich falsch, sind wahrscheinlich 200 Quadratfuss
Good location and a very good breakfast.
The bar/pub/lounge attached was closed at time of staying.
Very large room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good choice at breakfast.
Hotel is a little tired and in need of an upgrade. Bar was not open and restaurant not open for evening meal, however good breakfast in the morning.
We required two rooms next to each other for Autistic Teen. This was provided. The rooms were quiet and our teen felt safe. The rooms were good size, the en-suites sensibly laid out and very clean, with soaps etc provided and towels. Breakfast was superb, the staff regularly checking food availability and assisting guests when the need arose. Staff were friendly and helpful, happy to share information about the local area, especially regarding where to have an evening meal. The rooms were a bit 'dated' but comfortable, linens were fresh and clean, and complimentary tea and coffee were available, and refilled each morning. a tad pricey but to be honest, we didn't mind. There is a lovely sitting room with bookshelves full of old books, LOVE that! and there are rows of old books in the dining room, LOVE that too! Overall, an easy stay.
Rooms a bit 'dated', tatty furniture that beg to be upcycled at least, and one double mattress was a bit lumpy but I am over sensitive about a mattress, so I will let them off.
Great location & rustic original building. Reception staff are wonderful
Quite dated & could do with some upgrades. Bar was closed for the season which was disappointing considering the property was fully booked
Stunning location
Our room was shabby and falling apart, the shower was impossible to regulate, either scalding hot or freezing cold, 70s style cupboards that we're falling apart, very noisy bathroom fan, a door stop that was a trip hazard in the bathroom, could barely access the basin as it was behind the door, very old kettle with paper cups for the teas , wall paper falling off the walls, over powering smell of musty damp everywhere. The bar and restaurant was shut due to lack of staff, corridors were a similar shabby decor. Shockingly expensive for what you got.
Location
The Hotel is very dated,It wasn't very clean, Dust every were ,There was no cups or mugs in the room just plastic/cardboard cups, lack of complimentary biscuits etc. Sink in Bathroom was blocked, Had to use a bit of Self maintenance to sort it out.
