We loved the friendly atmosphere, the simple but clean rooms and the food was hearty and tasty. Perfect after a long day of walking. The climbers bar was excellent and we’re so pleased we stopped off here for a night on our Cumbria Way holiday.
Nothing to add.
Calme et confortable
Pub avec un bon chili con carne

Great Breakfast
Music night wasn’t great
Beautiful traditional hotel deep in the heart of the magnificent Langdale Valley. Magical spot. It is also a great base for exploring the wider Lake District. A 1/2 hourly bus connects the hotel to Ambleside and beyond via a stop right outside the hotel entrance.
Great location for people walking Cumbrian Way. Lovely hotel with unique atmosphere. Friendly staff and locals.
Shower was blocked and slow to drain. Room 2.
location
Probably the friendliest hotel we've ever stayed at. In the morning, we noticed we had a puncture and they went above and beyond to help us. Of course it's also a beautiful place in a great spot for walks. Great breakfast. Highly recommend.
Great location, gorgeous surroundings. Bed super comfy, great shower (much needed after long hikes). Food in the climbers bar is excellent. The waitresses are lovely - friendly, efficient and smiley. Breakfast very nice too. One lovely barman (glasses, shaved head).
Really let down by service in the bar. Barman was short, rude, borderline aggressive and not welcoming. Heard multiple people comment on him. Older guy, grey hair and short beard / stubble.
Probably located in the most stunning part of England.
It's set up for Outdoors people, has a hostel vibe so don't expect a spa and fine dining.
Staff were brilliant, down to earth.
Nothing.
