Fantastic Stay, Just How It Should Be, Great Food, Staff, and Setting, I'll Be Back!
Pros:

From arriving at the hotel - we arrived later in the evening, the welcome was great, we were made to feel welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble from the hardworking team. It was lovely to stay in what feels a homely, family, not corporate, hotel, very personal, friendly, and warm. It's a lovely, quirky, characterful building, little staircases off at angles and directions, really great.
Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked, great quality and piping hot, good selection of cereals and juices, alongside the cooked choices - full English was lovely, washed down with a decent pot of tea.
On our second evening, we had dinner too, excellent, lovely quality ingredients, well prepared and cooked, a nicely paced meal, lovely starter, fantastic steak, and a delicious dessert, all in front of a blazing log burner while the biting, cold wind blew outside.

Cons:

Nothing, it was great, and its on my list for the next time I stay in the area.

Lovely staff, good food and a comfortable bed!
Pros:

The room was quite quirky, the bed was comfortable and the generous addition of items (possibly forgotten) such as toothbrush, razor etc. We had a very good gin and tonic followed by an evening meal beside a roaring log fire in the attractive, traditional bar, the food was delicious and the Breakfast next morning was also excellent.

Cons:

If you’re not keen on creaky floorboards and furniture it may not be for you but it is full of character and we had a very comfortable stay.

Good food poor accommodation
Pros:

The food was first class and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The stair carpet to the accommodation was disgusting and smelly the room was ridiculous it had a swing in it attached to the bed with plastic ivy and flowers tied to it the lights were small chandeliers which gave out very little light the bed had a mattress which must have been cast in concrete the pillows were flat as pancakes and the blankets were as thin as the previously mentioned pancakes there were two chairs in the room to watch the small tv these chairs were only suitable for children.
The onsuite was clean but there was no hook on the back of the door and no shelf in the shower (there is plenty of space to do so).

Overall a great comfortable place to stay.
Pros:

It was different to anything we’d stayed in before. Quirky having the swing in the room, great bathroom. Lovely comfortable bed. Gardens great, probably wonderful in the summer.

Cons:

Had an evening meal which was exceptional. Service a little slow and another couple had their order taken before us even though arrived after us.
The floor had been washed so was wet when we came down for breakfast, think it should have been done after breakfast had finished.
