Of our two week trip to Scotland, we stayed in over half a dozen hotels, and this was by far the best one.
Pros:

Heated floors in bathroom, massive windows, comfy bed, spacious room, incredibly central location on George street with amazingly soundproof windows so we didn’t hear the street noise!

Cons:

Nothing, it was perfect

Stylish and central stay in need of a slight refresh
Pros:

This is a small hotel very close to the main Edinburgh Waverley train station. I had reserved the Sydney Junior Suite, and found that the hotel very much lived up to its "boutique" label - tastefully decorated, very spacious and comfortable, and with many useful amenities. I had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed great sleep. Front desk staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately I found issues with the control panels for the lights in the room, which were worn out and many of the buttons didn't work. This seems an odd lapse in maintenance for such an otherwise luxurious hotel. It should be noted that while junior suites are advertised as including free VIP entry to the nightclub, it is only open three nights a week (Wed/Fri/Sat).

Expected more
Pros:

Loved the location. The only thing is parking is at least 10 mins walk away. The bath was amazing. The room was good, it just wasn't great.

Cons:

Reception felt like it was optional to the staff. Rang the bell numerous times at check in and check out then had to go and find someone. Rang down to the desk twice from our room and got no responce each time. At breakfast we weren't checked on and was offered sauce which never appeared after we asked for it. Customers don't seem to be a priority. The flooring was coming up in the room and the room looked like it needed updating. The seats in the bar were threadbare. It just looked like it was once a high end place and now it can't be arsed.

Delightful boutique hotel with a wonderful location in Edinburgh.
Pros:

I really enjoyed my quick stay. Can’t comment on food or drinks as I didn’t have any…but the location (close to Waverley), friendly staff and beautiful, inviting room demand that I write this review. I needed a luxurious room for a one night stay with a specific location and Le Monde delivered. Can’t speak highly enough about this hotel. Oh…and good shower water pressure. So appreciated from this spoiled American.

Too noisy for us 🫣
Pros:

This is a stay of two halves.
We arrived Wednesday and the hotel was pretty good overall.
Pros:
Location
Ambience
Staff very friendly
Bedroom huge
Comfy bed
Amazing shower
Cons:
Breakfasts slow and cold
Cheap bread used
No food available in hotel during the day
Room needed some touching up
Bar in hotel needs a good clean (the under bar visible when you are sat in front of it has multiple chewing gum deposits and clumps of fluff and hair - right in your eye line if you’re in a booth).
Reception constantly unmanned.

Then Friday hit. Wish we’d seen the other reviews. Suddenly the peaceful, relaxing vibe of the hotel has become Butlins weekender. Pounding dance music from early afternoon. Huge groups of wasted people including hen nights partying from early afternoon. Followed by the thumping base of the on site nightclub keeping you awake until 3am. Both Friday and Saturday night.

And you know what? It’s obviously popular for them and what they need to survive. Fair play. Just not for us after a day of site seeing and wanting to chill out.
