Aonang Sunset Hotel

The location of the hotel is good for easy walking to most everything you want in Ao Nang. It’s a little noisy on the street with bars having live music across the street until late. It is not a quiet, restful, all inclusive resort. The property is a little dated but in reasonable condition. All in all a good affordable hotel.

First of all we came as couple for a weekend trip
I ordered superior double room and got twin room.. the room wasn’t clean they didn’t even change the sheets.
Then it get even better the AC stopped working and there is no water supply half of the day

Over all experience it was horrible worst 90$ I’ve spent in Thailand
I’m here since 2022..

Very friendly staff in a good location

Nice hotel in a great location. Close to restaurants, a short walk to the beach. Clean and friendly staff!

Vi (2 voksene og ett barn) skulle opprinnelig bo på hotellet i 5-6 dager men ble der i 11 dager. Vi er veldig fornøyd med oppholdet på hotellet. Servicen var fantastisk, både ansatte og hotellets eier var alltid blid og hjelpsom, renholdet veldig bra, hotellets plassering kunne ikke vært bedre, nært til stranden og bylivet/restauranter. Frokosten var ikke så mye å skryte av, og bassenget med området rundt kunne vært større, men vi oppholdt oss for det meste på stranden, eller tok båtturer ut til de fantastiske øyene i området rundt Krabi. Båtturer kunne bestilles på hotellet for en langt rimeligere pris enn hos andre selgere. Anbefaler definitivt ett opphold på dette hotellet. Vi kommer mer enn gjerne tilbake.

Nice, central and clean hotel! Staff is helpful and sweet. Breakfast is pretty standard, the best are some of the softest I’ve slept in in Thailand, and they have nice comforters.

The noise from the bars across the street is very bothersome, ask for a room in the back and you’ll be fine.

The very best staff ! For the price great location , solid rooms everything works fine. Great water pressure in shower as well. They were very kind to me all the time !

We didn’t even stay the night by far the worst hotel we’ve been too wish we had looked on here before so we could have avoided the whole room was riddled with bugs and mites. It felt like a bushtucker trail. The staff was rude when we told them there was bugs in the room and they offered us to stay in a dorm witch I could only imagine how bad that would have been

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be perfectly fine. The central location is convenient, though it comes with expected city noise – something I was aware of when booking. The small yet pleasant pool was a nice addition, but the rooms were disappointingly responsive. I could hear noises from the neighboring room and corridors, as well as outside disturbances, more than I would have preferred. The major drawback still was the subpar wireless network, which fell short of expectations. I ended up relying on my smartphone's hotspot for the majority of my stay, which was inconvenient. Overall, a decent stay with some minor inconveniences.

Hotellin huoneet ovat mukavia ja siistejä, mutta äänieristys ulkoa tulevalle melulle todella huono. Herkkäunisena unta sai siis vasta klo 1 yöllä. Hotelli on kyllä todella hyvällä paikalla kaiken keskellä.

Nice hotel, very near to everything and beach too, small but clean pool, medium but clean rooms, location is walking distance from everything. Eateries, beach, boating,pier everything. And very reasonable, reception staff was also polite, and informative.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sunset. Staff are lovely and very friendly.. It’s great value for the money and close to everything. Don’t bother with the breakfast. It’s run by the restaurant next door and they are not interested. I did point that out to the Sunset staff that they were letting them down and it did improve somewhat. The Sunset staff even bought fruit to the room one morning when my wife wasn’t feeling well.

Musty smell and Dirty. Mold in shower. Screen doors don’t close tight, bugs all over in the morning. Headboard on wall wasn’t secured tightly. There wasn’t an outlet near the bed which made it impossible to use cPap machine. Stayed only one of the three nights booked. Was told we would receive a refund but never did.

We had a good few nights stay here, the rooms were to a good standard, swimming pool was nice and the location is perfect. Only slight issue was the noise coming from the bar across the road but this didn’t effect our sleep. Staff are lovely and very helpful.

Small and cozy middle-range hotel with good location near Ao Nang beach and main street. Friendly service in every way. We spend four weeks at Ao-Nang Sunset Hotel and enjoyed the atmosphere there a lot. Though swimming pool area was not that good.

I have stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and I will outline the pros and cons:
Pros:
(a) Great location, 2 to 4 minutes walk to Ao Nang Beach and plenty of shops and restaurants. There is a 7/11 store just opposite the hotel and a few money exchange places to change your GBP, USD, Euros and so on to Thai Bahts at decent rates.
(b) Lovely and friendly staff - the people at the reception were great and helpful especially Malinee, Fadila (I think that is her name) and Abdur Rahman - and the receptionist who works on night shifts was very highly entertaining to say the very least but very helpful
(c) Nana Restaurant - good place for breakfast and staff were warm and friendly
(d) Clean and spacious room - I couldn't complain about this as I had a comfortable bed and no insects!! = even though I didn't have the best views but that isn't a problem so long as the room is clean and I can sleep well without any disturbances
(e) As a muslim traveller from the UK, the area is predominately Muslim with plenty of Halal eateries and Masjid Ao Nang is a 20 minutes walk from the hotel. In addition to this, the room I was staying had the Qibla direction for prayers which was more than handy for me as I pray 5 times daily.
(f) Cleaners - they did an exceptional job cleaning my room daily
(e) Price - this is reasonably priced for what you are getting - don't expect 5 star treatment like what you get at Hilton or Intercontinental

Cons: (there is only one con)
Communication - this is where I feel that some staff need to improve their English a bit especially if the hotel is catering for tourists. It has been emphasised by other users on here as well so I would kindly ask the management of the hotel to look into this so we can have better communication but at the same time it would be good for tourists to learn a few phrases of the Thai language to help and improve things too.

All in all, I loved this hotel and would highly recommend this to anyone because of the location and the friendliness of the staff. If I come to Krabi again, I will book into this hotel for sure
