Cebu White Sands Resort and Spa

Old and desperately need for improvement and upgrade. Hotel management introduced too many petty policies. Issuing 1 card towel per guest. Losing a towel or the card results in P1,000 penalty. No takeaway food allowed in room as P2,000 will be charged for cleaning up! Cannot bring guest to room, only seeing them in lobby area.
Treated guests as school kids.
We supposed to have a carefree and relax holiday. Too much burden staying in White Sand. Too stressful with this towel exchange and possibility of losing the card or towel. Stayed in Movienpick, Crimson, Shangri-la, Plantation, Blue Water etc. No such issues!
Only plus side was that concierge and restaurant staff were excellent. Polite, helpful and attentive. Cannot say the same of check-in front desk. Inflexible, not helpful and work by the book.
Closing their swimming pool at 5 pm and main pool at 7 pm was a joke. Won't go back again.

Breakfast could be better; property is a little old but generally clean

The Staff was excellent! Very welcoming and attentive. But the resort was old and dated for the price. The pool was clean except for the steps that were black from moss? Mold? And light fixtures in the pool were coming apart. Also the beach is not as pictured. Water area was filled with boats, did not feel like I could swim safely in the ocean. They have 3 restaurant areas, but not a single one was enclosed with AC. The rooftop restaurant only had small area of covered roof which was an issue when it rains

Beautiful resort!

The hotel was nice overall but it could use some upgrades. We had issues closing our sliding patio door and the shower knob leaked. But overall we had a pleasant stay. Nice beach during high tide, pool and hot tub area. Just need to supervise guests with children to not use hot tub as a kiddie pool. Breakfast was good. Room was clean.

Only 1 night stay before we travel back to UK, so I believe they gave us one if the oldest rooms at the back. Although the hotel seemed practically empty. Overal it was ok, but room was a bit dirty and old dated and buffet was also average, no fresh juices or coffee. We didnt swim in the sea as it seemed more like a port than a beach. In general it was a good stay, staff was friendly but didnt go the extra mile, only did their job nicely. In other hotels we have been offered complementary upgrades during quiet times.

Everything was wonderful, but basic maintenance on tightening the toilet seat, tightening the bathroom sink and fixing the leaky shower head would have been easy, other than that, staff was awesome, food great, pool maintained etc

Great resort! Main pool is humongous with shade provided in most of the seating areas. Beach access was less than a minute walk from my room. Smaller pool was closed during my stay but looked nice as well. Koi pond was really nice with big fish very relaxing. Definitely will stay here again.

Clean with everything we need.

My wife slipped in the shower our first day. We got stuck in the room the whole vacation. The management didn’t bother to check on us. My wife’s right leg is so swollen they didn’t take her to hospital till our last day. No empathy. Only one employee was kind enough to take care of her. The nurse name Archie. He told the management I needed to be seen by a doctor but they didn’t do anything at all. Will never stay here and make sure to let everyone know the treatment we got. We paid a lot and got stuck in the room. Never again in this place.

Quiet and nice hotel. Make you forget about the busy streets behind the walls.
Stayed only 1 night but quite enjoy it.
Only thing that could definitely be improved is the breakfast. no much enjoyable options and extra charge for coffee.
Nothing special outside the hotel except massage place and Korean restaurants.

If you want to go here for the beach, go somewhere else . They say that they have a private beach which is true but there are cement walls going out to the ocean to make it private . Private beach felt like a jail.

This is a beautiful well keep and well maintained resort . I would have given it 5 stars but it lack in customer sevice. Do get me wrong the staff were super nice and respectful everywhere from room service to the pool maintenance,gardeners,room9, breakfast staff, i cant say enough about them. So what was wrong, no follow up asking if you would like another drink or dessert etc etc. Sat at the beach area an ordered a cold one and that was it never heard from anyone untill i had to walk back up to the restaurant area to get another or they would come down much later with room charge bill to sign, not to ask if the can get you anything else first before closing off. Same thing happens up stairs at 801 . Fantastic place good food . Seems like they bring first drink out and then you have to wave your hands in the air to flag them down for another while 5 of them are standing around. Dont blame them, probably what they have been told to do ,again they were all so nice but your restaurant and bars would make so much more money if just up sell a little. I saw a few guests saying the same thing they felt abandoned. Beautiful resort would i go back absolutely.
